About Mrs. Cucumber Sandwich

Invitation inspiration! We have taken the advice of the divine Mrs. Brooch and contacted Kyndal about designing our wedding invitations. We are going the semi-DIY route and are having the invitations designed by someone else but printed by us. Hopefully that will save us a little bit of moolah that can be used somewhere else (like my shoes!). Of course we needed to send Kyndal some of our inspiration.

Here was my first love:

Come on Over, Come on Over Baby : wedding cape may invitations stationery Cuc11 cuc1

I really like the bracket design, but I probably would want to change the background to be more similar to our wedding website but with smaller quatrefoils or whatever those shapes are called.

Kyndal would probably need to change the font, too, since it doesn’t fit with the quatrefoil background. I gave her a couple of the other ideas I was thinking about, too. My second favorite invite was this one:

I really liked the simplicity of it. I read somewhere that using your new last name prior to the wedding day is bad luck, so I would probably want the monogram changed to our initials. Also the swirls are a little too swirly for me (yes, a technical term), so perhaps something a little more structured/modern would be better. Poor Kyndal. That is the exact description I gave her. If she can figure out what the hell I am talking about and transform it into an invite, then she is a wedding genius.

I also gave her a couple of designs that I loved from Minted.

LOVE the tiny initials in the corner. Not crazy about the swag. Maybe if it was just a straight line of little dots or something.

This design would hopefully be in our wedding colors (navy, white, gray, or orange), but I really like the pop of color and the minimalist design. With some great fonts I think this could be a real winner.

Clearly my inspiration is all over the place, and I am sure it was not helpful at all to Kyndal. I am going to need to narrow this down. Right now I am leaning toward the first option and having it tie in closely with our website. Then everything will match…yay! Aaagh, this is so hard.

Invitations are probably the hardest part of wedding planning for me. Anyone have any great ideas I could copy? Which invite do you like best?

So I had never heard of Cursive by Kyndal, so I went to their website…. did you end of going with the first design with the background from your wedding website? Because that was one of the samples that came up!!!! I think they look very classy :)

Love the choices (and Classic Bracket is nice, too…the one like your website), but I’m no help in deciding, ’cause I like ‘em all! (well, the last isn’t really my style since it’s a bit too plain for me, but I can see where it would be a favorite!)

These are all great inspiration! I can’t wait to see the final design, I think invite design process is the worst but most rewarding :)

I personally LOVE the wording on the first invitation….and I like the bottom two in terms of design. I like the minimalist approach and think it is something that (maybe) your guests haven’t seen before? Just a thought!

I love the fonts and design of that last one, but they’re all so lovely in their own way. Focusing the invitation design was definitely a challenge for us, too.

I am still deciding for my invites too! this is the hardest part I guess, there are so many designs to choose from. Whatever design you choose, I know, it’s going to look great!

We also contacted Kyndal (@gocubbies on weddingbee) and thank god we did! She did an amazing job with out invitation suite. I’ll send you the files if you want to take a look!

PS. Love the Christina reference in the title!! Nothing is better than Christina circa 2000! =)

Invitations were by FAR the hardest wedding choice for me. So many options! I do love the simplicity of the last two designs you posted. Very classy!

@Nicole: Ding, ding, ding… we have a winner. Thanks for saying they look classy after looking at them so much I start to second guess them!

Kyndal did/is doing my invitation suite, too, and I absolutely adore her! She created exactly what we were looking for, and at a really reasonable rate. I am SO pleased with what she’s provided so far. She is a wonderful resource for semi-DIYers!!
