Mrs. Seal's Picture
Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.

Squee! A Bridal Shower for ME?!

July 12th, 2011 @ 3:32 pm by Mrs. Seal

I’m going to a bridal shower next month, kiddies. Oh, and not just any bridal shower—MY bridal shower! The other day, I got this lovely little thang in the mail and I squealed with joy.

Forgive the crappy iPhone photo!

How cute are those flowers?! MOH Brandi sure knows the way to my heart with those new “Love” stamps (she went to three different post offices before tracking them down). I hadn’t even opened the envelope and I adored the invitations already!

But don’t fret, hive—the actual invite is equally adorable.

A fête hosted by Mama Seal and MOH Brandi? Count me in!

She included two recipe cards with each invite and boy am I lookin’ forward to acquiring some tasty new recipes!

There had been some wavering as to where the shower would be held which caused some delay in invite production-so as soon as the place was set, MOH Brandi (and her sweet BF) feverishly toiled over these during a long weekend to ensure they got sent out with enough notice.

Brandi sent me this photo (which I promptly edited) showcasing some of her hard work:

The task drove her to (5%) alcohol. Ha! She didn’t think I’d notice.

Don’t tell her this (because she’ll use it against me one day!)—but I am so thankful to have this lady in my life, and so honored that she will be standing next to me on my wedding day. We’ve been friends for nearly 20 years (since she asked if I wanted to play with her “Skip-it” in 2nd grade-remember those?). And despite her move to Delaware a few years back—we’ve remained just as close. I can’t fathom how she is managing to help Mama Seal plan my shower from nearly 3,000 miles away, but she’s doin’ it and I appreciate it (and her) more than words can convey.

My second lovely MOH (Meghan) and BM Sarah hosted an engagement party for Mr. Seal and I last year and it was amazing, so I am super excited for another wedding get-together! I really have no idea what’s in store for me at this event, but I know it will be fabulous in the hands of my ladies and I cannot wait. :)

How much did you *love* your shower invites? Who is hosting your shower?

Those are some gorgeous shower invites! When I received my shower invite it was so tiny! It’s funny how I pictured it in my head and how it actually was was totally different.

My Dad’s fraternity brothers (Yes!) are hosting our engagement party/shower. Of course, they’ve turned it into a bar shower. I love it.

Thanks everyone!!

@jesij- The envelopes are kraft (they look like a paper bag). I took the flower stamp and scanned it . I then printed the image out on the envelopes and colored the flowers with colored pencils.

@Mrs.Elephant- I was so afraid people wouldn’t notice it’s a cork board!

@sarbear2814-I loved that flower stamp! I had no idea what I was going to do with it but I wanted it!!

@Miss.Seal-Where is the unicorn pic??

Evey time I read one of these posts, I get excited. After all, the pre-wedding parties are really the appetizer. But they’re super delicious appetizers, like spring rolls and shrimp cocktail etc. Is it just me who feels this way?

I have to say that I LOVE the invitation envelope! I haven’t seen one like that with the roses on it. That would make a fun keepsake for the guests. At least I would save it but I just find those touches special.
