Mrs. Elephant's Picture
Mrs. Elephant, Dallas, TX Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Operations Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, IT Student/Store Manager Engagement Date: March 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: The Tribute Golf Club About Me: I'm a Philly native creating roots deep in the heart of Texas. I might be a little obsessed capturing those Kodak moments of anything and everything (mainly on vacations). I've become more of a gamer thanks to Mr. Elephant, who I met online and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with. We are planning a wedding based on our favorite colors, blue and green, with a travel theme for 150 of our closest friends and family. Hopefully our long (2-year) engagement won't kill me!
About Mrs. Elephant

With the bridal party in place at the gazebo it was time for Daddy E and I to make a walk that he has been so excited about since the day Mr. E popped the question.

We walked down to Somewhere Over the Rainbow played on the steel drums. I still tear up whenever this song comes up on my iPod.

Mr E. was a little teary eyed as I walked closer.

The thing about my walk down the aisle is that I could not see Mr. E for more than half of it. Walking out of the building and towards the ceremony I could really only see our guests up until we turned the corner towards the first archway.

When I first connected with Mr. E the emotions started to take over again. I didn’t think that either of us would get as emotional since we did a first look and all of our portraits before the ceremony, but there is still something about walking towards the person you are about to profess your life long love to that just touches the heart.

I tried to smile through the emotions, because I knew the cameras were on me, but you can still see the early stages of the ugly cry. We made it to the front where I gave a kiss to my dad and then he placed my hand in Mr. E’s.

If you had a first look, did you still get emotional during your walk to the alter?

Thanks for making me cry!!! I felt the same way, we did the first look and all the pics, and even hung out before the ceremony, but we both still got emotional as I walked down the aisle

Oh yes, I cried during the first look and I cried again going down the aisle. Even though we had seen each other, it didn’t make that moment any less emotional.

All of that to say that I can totally relate. :)

Thank you everyone!! I’m so glad that we had some amazing photographers that caught some great shots of us!

@MrsSl82be: @Mrs. Lox: @Mrs. Earrings: I’m glad to know I wasn’t the only one! It really is such an emotional walk even though we just saw each other 20 mins before

DH did not cry at all during our first look and he criiied at our ceremony (I cried at both haha). There really is just something totally different and overwhelming about walking towards the person you’re about to marry. I love the pics of you trying to hold back the ugly cry.

Yes, yes, yes! First look was the best part of the day and didn’t take away anything from walking down the aisle!

I agree - no bride’s cry is ugly! That is a bad name. The wedding walk is an emotional time for some brides and expressing your true feeling is NOT an ugly thing! (I feel like brides get all worked up about crying because of the “ugly cry”…this is, IMO, just crazy to be worried about your true feelings at that moment because of photography!) OK, I am done.

Mrs. E - I love these photos, I def teared up! You can see the emotions and I love it!

Gorgeous and this version of the song is really quite moving! I can only imagine the feeling of being there in person. I’m trying not to cry at work!
