My enthusiasm for each of these activities far surpasses my skill. Thank goodness Mr. Cucumber Sandwich is there to pick up the pieces and be the voice of reason about my DIY tries. I have an obsession with terrible romantic comedies (‘From Justin to Kelly’ anyone?, anyone?!?), competitive Scrabble play, and hot dogs. I could eat astronaut ice cream for every meal and can’t seem to resist buying more shoes. Our wedding is going to be a true hodge podge of semi-destination, tradition, Yuengling, New England charm, with just a dash of ‘Jersey Shore’ thrown in. It has been six years in the making and I can’t wait to marry my best friend.

Testing 1-2-3

Four down…one to go!  I am so excited that my bridesmaids have started picking out their dresses. BM Smoked Salmon Sammie ordered hers almost three months ago, and I finally got to see it when I went over her house for dinner the other weekend.

The only requirements for the dress were that it be above the knee and navy. The website makes it look a little more purple-y, but it is definitely navy in person.

This weekend Mama CS ordered six dresses from J.Crew for the Sammie Sisters to try on. After a couple of returns and reorders, they both managed to walk away with a dress.

Unfortunately, they weren’t being very cooperative and refused to let Mama CS take any pictures of them in the dresses. I guess I will just have to be surprised.

And BM Egg Salad Sammie has chosen this lovely number for her dress. I’m going to be a bridesmaid in BM Egg Salad Sammie’s wedding a month before mine, and the dresses she picked for the bridesmaids look eerily similar to the one above. I guess she favors this style.

Now I can’t for the life of me figure out what to do about the jewelry. I kind of just want to say forget it and have the bridesmaids pick out whatever they want. This is hard. I still have a little time, so I am going to put it off. Excellent plan!

Any thoughts?

Have you picked out bridesmaid gifts yet? You could always pick a necklace or bracelet out to give to each of them.

I’m considering this for my one and only: http://www.etsy.com/listing/61577043/cherish-au-naturel

The bottom of this post, http://oceanascubasteve.weebly.com/attire—women.html , got me thinking I’m going to make ribbon pearl necklaces for them! Not sure how you re for time but it doesn’t look too bad.

I’m struggling with this too…since my girls are picking their own navy dresses also. I want something cohesive but its hard to pick jewelry that each girl will like and wear…and that will go with the individual dresses. The same necklace won’t work for each of thos different necklines (which is what im predicting will be the case for my girls too) or is that just in my head? Anyway good luck, excited to see what you choose to do!

Ohh, what a great variety of dresses for your girls! I think they did such a great job picking out dresses, they could be trusted with accessories as well. If you want them to, that is ;)

I got the same pair of earrings for my girls and no necklace! We just got in the dresses - and the earrings look great with them! That may be a thought since the necklines are all different. Etsy has some pretty cool blue jewel ones for less than $20. Just a thought! :)

I went to Michaels today and decided I’m DEFINITELY making my BM’s jewelry! They had some awesome things and I’ve considered it before because my friend made us our jewelry when I was in her wedding.

@ambertaylor422: Oooh I love the earrings idea but one Sammie sister has to be extra difficult and doesn’t have her ears pierced. I know, who does that?!?
