Mrs. Cucumber Sandwich's Picture
Mrs. Cucumber Sandwich, Washington, DC/Cape May, NJ Age and Occupation: 28, School Counselor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 40, Collegiate Athletics Engagement Date: March 27, 2010 Wedding Date: October 2011 Venue: Congress Hall Hotel About Me: I am a school counselor who spends my day wrangling children and my nights attempting to be creative with wedding projects. My enthusiasm for each of these activities far surpasses my skill. Thank goodness Mr. Cucumber Sandwich is there to pick up the pieces and be the voice of reason about my DIY tries. I have an obsession with terrible romantic comedies (‘From Justin to Kelly’ anyone?, anyone?!?), competitive Scrabble play, and hot dogs. I could eat astronaut ice cream for every meal and can’t seem to resist buying more shoes. Our wedding is going to be a true hodge podge of semi-destination, tradition, Yuengling, New England charm, with just a dash of ‘Jersey Shore’ thrown in. It has been six years in the making and I can’t wait to marry my best friend.

This Is How We Do It

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy…it’s a girl! Girl Photography, that is (haha, I crack myself up!). We got a sneak peek of our engagement shoot this past weekend. They are totally A-MAZING and I am now completely confident with our wedding in Nicole’s hands. Would you like to see?!?

Ahhhh, I’m a sucker for engagement sessions in bookstores! The photos in the park look incredible–can’t wait to see more!

It seems like everyone I know has loved their photographer even more after their engagement session, so here’s a different question - what do you do if you DIDN’T love your photographer more after your engagement photos? We already put the deposit down far in advance of scheduling the engagement session and our photographer has turned out to be awkward, unoriginal and not very good at helping us pose…but a month from the wedding is there anything we can really do?

@lisaelanna: Uhhh, call around and see if any photographers in your area are still available! Might as well try, you never know!

@Mrs. Tartlet: @Miss Seal: Thank you!
@lisaelanna: I would agree with Mrs. Hyena that there is still time to call around and see if anyone is available you never know. And I would treat the engagement photos just like you would any other trial (hair/make-up). Tell the photographer what you liked and didn’t like and show them inspiration photos. Also you can provide them with a detailed shot list for the wedding day of all the photos they must get so they don’t leave anything out.
