Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Z5
No, I’m not leaving the hive yet; I haven’t quite finished sharing. This post is about our wedding weekend farewell brunch. I loved the idea of adding an extra event to our weekend, but I was a bit skeptical about choosing a brunch.

I didn’t know if it would be worth the money. Having a welcome dinner where you spend more time with guests sounds so much more exciting.

But, since people were traveling a long way and more people could make it to a Sunday morning event, we chose the brunch.

Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Dsc 04401 We spent the morning after our wedding reminiscing with everyone.

Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Dsc 04402 Our parents did the same.

We didn’t fully review the menu, and we chose to have the brunch at our wedding venue for our guest’s convenience. It’s located across the street from most of the hotels we blocked rooms with.

Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Dsc 04501 The food ended up being incredible. They had an omelet station, home fries, bacon, sausage, pancakes, scrambled eggs, fruit, eggs benedict, pastries, a carving station, seafood, chicken, sides, salads…and on top of all the brunch options, they had a dessert station with mini desserts and chocolate covered strawberries. It was amazing.

We had the brunch in a room overlooking the water.

Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Dsc 047 The food was great and the company was great, but then things started to wind down. It was time to say goodbye and end our incredible weekend. We gave hugs and said farewell. Group by group, our friends and family began to leave.

Newport Nuptials: A Farewell (Brunch) : wedding newport pictures pro pics recap Dsc 04502 I thought I’d be sad when it was all over, but instead I felt content. I really enjoyed the planning phase and I worried nothing would live up to my expectations. I was surprised to realize I wouldn’t want to do it again because I know nothing could compare to that day. Not really just the day, the whole weekend. Every moment was amazing.

How did you feel when your wedding was over? Were there any regrets, or things you wanted to change, or did you feel content, as well?

I am right there with you. I was terrified the day wouldn’t live up to my expectations because I’d spent so much time and energy planning. In the end I was right, but not the way I’d expected. It didn’t meet my expectations, it exceeded them. :)

My cousins had their after-wedding brunch at ABC a few years ago. It was wonderful to have everyone together the day after the wedding… and oh my, it was delicious! I still remember it even though it was 3 years ago!! Good choice! ;)
