Mrs. Seal, San Francisco Age and Occupation: 25, Personal Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, Sales and Support Specialist Engagement Date: December 12, 2009 Wedding Date: November 2011 Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
About Mrs. Seal

I have no idea what my deal is, but I am weirdly obsessed with out-of-town/welcome bags. Sometimes as I lay in bed, I fantasize about the day in which I walk into the local warehouse store and buy all of the yummy snacks to fill said bags. Strange? Most likely.

Anyhow, whatever it is, there’s something truly exciting in knowing that my guests will be welcomed by a bag of goodies at their hotel room. I know I hate getting into a hotel room, thirsty and hungry from traveling, only to be met by $10 bottles of water and candy bars. It’ll be a nice treat for them and another way for us to express our supreme gratitude!

Plenty of lovely bees have put their own twist on the welcome bags/boxes and I intend to follow suit! About a year ago (yes, a year ago), in keeping with the skyline theme from our Save-the-Dates, I purchased customized welcome bags from Favors You Keep. With my new found DIY confidence, I know that I could have perhaps attempted these myself for a fraction of the cost-but, honestly, I’m glad I let someone else take on the task, because I love what I ended up with!

An empty bag just waiting to be filled!

In terms of what will actually go in the bag—I’ve got a few ideas. Mostly some bag staples like water, snacks, and gum. However, I do want to include a few items to help drive home that SF feel—for example, I’d like to include a few Ghirardelli chocolate squares, an SF map and travel guide, and maybe a couple of pre-postaged postcards.

And last, but certainly not least, I intend to tie one of our little mini Moo welcome cards onto the handles.

Our assortment of Moo cards (each has the same note from the top on its backside)

I can’t wait to get the bags stuffed, tagged and settled into our guests’ rooms…four months from now. Hehe ;)

Which wedding projects excite you into early action? Are you doing welcome bags?

I didn’t realize I loved OOT bags until I went to a wedding recently and was soooo excited to see the bag! At that moment I knew I wanted them. Love the moo cards too!

I may not need one but I think Greg does… hint hint. haha jk. If I’m not on the list I won’t cry. . .much. Next time I need to slave over 52 bridal shower (baby?) invitations I’ll think twice (yes I plan on hanging that over your head FOREVVVVER!).

Stupid question. How are they given out? Does the hotel give you a list of rooms and you go around putting them in before guests arrive?

These will be so cute! And I think it’s perfectly acceptable to dream about these elements for your wedding months in advance because they are fun and will be so appreciated by your guests!

I also have a weird obsession with the OOT bags! I haven’t started yet, but I do keep a huge folder in my favorites with all different ideas for them.

We didn’t do OOT bags — I’ve never actually seen them done in real life! I would be so excited to get one though. :)

So awesome that you have these checked off your ‘to do’ list already! The custom design is way cute–I would love to receive one as a guest!

Thanks everybody :) I love them tooooo! Also happy to hear I’m not the only one with an OOT bag obsession. Lol.

@MissSealsMOH: You guys will get one! You are both traveling SOOOO far—I think you AT LEAST deserve a bag. Also, yes—the hotel will give us a room list…and they’ll actually put the bags in the rooms for us!

Hey - just a tip - if you go to the SFO visitors bureau they may have great FREE maps, coupons and info. The town we had our wedding in was super helpful and I called, and they made up a box with the # of things I needed for me to pick up.
