Mrs. Hippo's Picture
Mrs. Hippo, New York City/Dallas, TX Age and Occupation: 34, Event Planner for a Non-Profit Fiance's Age and Occupation: 35, Finance IT Engagement Date: August 8, 2009 Wedding Date: March 2011 Venue: Samuel Lynne Galleries and Marc Events About Me: I’m a thirty-something bride living in New York City and planning a modern-ish wedding in Dallas, Texas. I love trashy reality television (Jersey Shore, anyone?), online shopping, Sunday brunch, Central Park, and random celebrity spottings on the streets of Manhattan. While I love NYC, I miss good Tex-Mex, my college friends, central A/C, and being in close proximity to a Target. I’m thrilled to finally be planning an event that’s not work-related and to be marrying my best friend in what I hope will be a unique and personal ceremony followed by a reception with plenty of good food, good drinks, and dancing (regardless if it’s good or not).
About Mrs. Hippo

Immediately after the ceremony, we headed outdoors to catch the remaining sunlight for photos. Luckily, daylight savings time began the week before our wedding, so we had a little extra time to spend outside before it started to get dark. The manager of the art gallery thought I was insane when I told her we were going to take photos in the alley behind the gallery, but I absolutely love how they turned out. The combination of the urban setting with the formal clothing was just what I was looking for.

It wasn’t all serious, though. We managed to goof around in regular Hippo fashion during the first few minutes of married life. If we can manage to keep each other laughing, life will be good.

We were then joined by our bridesmaids and groomsmen for what might be one of my absolute favorite pictures from the wedding.

With all of our outdoor photos taken, we headed back inside to take traditional photos with our families. We were a few minutes ahead of schedule, so we stayed behind with our photographers for a few minutes to get a couple of additional photos in the art gallery.

With all the photos taken, we hopped the shuttle and headed to the reception. With all the formal stuff behind us, it was time to celebrate!

I love all the pictures and the girls bouquets… That is exactly what I want my girls flowers to look like.

That second to the last pic of the two of you is awesome… He looks like he can’t wait another minute to kiss you.

Beautiful!

@janny520: It’s a Casablanca (1985), and I bought it at a bridal shop in Dallas called Mockingbird Bridal.
