Ms. Sloth's Picture
Ms. Sloth, Philadelphia Age and Occupation: 35, Account Manager and Fashion Blogger Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Design Admin Engagement Date: December 25, 2009 Wedding Date: May 2011 Venue: Bartram's Garden About Me: I'm an internet junkie and music snob with a good eye for a bargain. I couldn't live without thrift store shopping, cheeseburgers, sushi, Coke Zero, websites devoted to silly photos of baby animals, Photoshop, and Mr. Sloth. Speaking of which, he and I are a pair of goofball homebody nerds who love our beagle (the most ridiculously adorable dog EVER) to an embarrassing degree. We're planning a low-key and intimate yet festive and quirky outdoor wedding with DIY details and deeply personal touches, and it's all taking place in the city where we fell in love and call home: Philadelphia.
About Ms. Sloth

There’s just one more set of portraits to get through before the main event, y’all, so hang in there!

We posed by ourselves and with our attendants, and now it was time for a couple of family shots.

Me with my little sister:

That Rainy Day Feeling: Family Portraits : wedding philadelphia pictures pro pics recap F6 F6

Mr. S and me with my sister, her fiance, and my mom. (Side note: my sister’s fiance’s crazy jacket and pants were apparently a huge issue beforehand, because my sister wanted him to wear something more “normal” and he refused. His outfit was a big topic of conversation that night. Everyone was talking about it. And then they were like “Ooooohhhhh, he’s European. That explains it!” Whatever that’s supposed to mean. I think he looked pretty rad. Anyway, I can’t wait to see what he wears to their own wedding next summer!)

Me with my sister and mom. (Side note: the dress my mom is wearing ended up being in the Bridesmaids movie, worn by Wendi McLendon-Covey in the infamous bridal salon scene. My mom was super-excited to find that out).

That Rainy Day Feeling: Family Portraits : wedding philadelphia pictures pro pics recap F2 F2

And now it’s us with his immediate family, which is much bigger when you include two parents, a grandma, and a bunch of brothers and wives.

That Rainy Day Feeling: Family Portraits : wedding philadelphia pictures pro pics recap F4 F4

Both of us with both of our families.

That Rainy Day Feeling: Family Portraits : wedding philadelphia pictures pro pics recap F3 F3

And us with our parents.

That Rainy Day Feeling: Family Portraits : wedding philadelphia pictures pro pics recap F5 F5

And that’s enough of us standing around on the grass. Next up, we get ready to get married!

Woah, I can see why your sister’s fiance’s outfit was causing controversy. What he wears to his own wedding is his own business, but he kind of looks like a picture crasher in the one above. Just kinda seems like he could have dealt with not being a topic of convo on someone else’s wedding day…

Maybe its just me. I just know that there’s always “that girl” who wears something ridiclously skimpy and gets a lot of attention for it at weddings, and he kinda seems like he’s being “that guy.” Except its worse because hes in the formal portraits too. Is this his normal state of dress?

Sorry if that is harsh, I think you had a lovely wedding but I would have been pretty irritated by that display.

I think he pulled off the funky look!! But I have a pair of pants eerily similar to that color blue so I may be biased :)

I like his statement outfit! One of our guests chose similar attire, which prompted curious guests to ask who he was and WHY?? We thought it was fun.

Such a lush backdrop for all of your portraits! (It’s tough picking a picture where everyone looks good.)

I love his outfit, but I would probably do a double take at first :)

Haha, I too did a double take when I first saw your sister’s fiance in that picture. But my reaction was more along the lines of “Woah! Who’s that cool guy?” Like Trail Mix said… supaflyyyy.

I’m not in love with the pants he chose to pair up with the jacket but it- its actually nice. I like the white plaid. Did she make him “hide” in those last few pics; he’s standing behind?

@Mrs. Turtle: @Mrs. Trail Mix: haha supafly!

Lol to your sister’s fiance’s outfit. I get the European thing. Europeans have their own style. I realize that every time I go visit my family in Romania.
