Fit to be Tied

July 25th, 2011 @ 1:05 pm by Mrs. Macarons

We were just about squared away on the groomsmen’s attire except for the ties. While I have a soft spot for paisley, Macs can’t stand it. All the check patterns we found reminded me of Easter, so that left us with stripes.

This first one was pretty close color wise, but skinny ties just look funny to me on really tall men. Men’s Wearhouse had another Calvin Klein but it was an online exclusive and, at $60 a piece, I didn’t want to spend that much on something I couldn’t see in person.

I finally hit the jackpot last week. It was a relatively slow day at work so I decided to accompany Sassy to the mall while she returned some things for her hubby. While waiting out of the corner of my eye I saw it on a sale table. The perfect ties! Okay, make that tie—I wasn’t about to buy one with several ink stains.

I brought it up to the cashier and with my biggest doe eyes asked if he had any more in the back. He told me they had one more (the one with ink) and I told him I needed four for a wedding. All the Macy’s nearby were sold out, but he found two in Tallahassee and two in Naples. You bet I had those puppies shipped to me. What about the doe eyes? They scored me and Sassy an additional 15% off our purchases. I have no shame—wedding accessories are serious business!

Are your men wearing patterned ties? What pattern did you and your men pick?

Score!!! My guys are possibly wearing patterned ties… but I don’t think the one I picked is going to fly. Why do men hate paisley?

My fiancee and I wanted ties that were a little funky… and different that what you would find at the department store. This website has it all and you can switch up the colors!! http://cyberoptix.com/

Great pick. :) I could see Mr. Tartlet wanting one of those for his own tie collection!

I must have the one guy that doesn’t hate paisley. We are going with purple and grey paisley ties. I labsolutely love them and my bridal party and flower girls have so much to work off, because we are not doing matching dresses.
