Mrs. Lioness's Picture
Mrs. Lioness, Atlanta Age and Occupation: 25, Physical Therapist Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Attorney Engagement Date: August 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: Anthony’s Fine Dining About Me: I’m a Southern girl with New England roots. I say "wicked" and "y’all" in the same sentence and I like to drink sweet tea with my lobster. Mr. Lion and I are both former Floridians now living in Atlanta, which fortunately is still SEC country...Go Gators! We both love baseball, coffee, traveling, cooking, and playing Words with Friends with each other on our iPhones all day long. I’m very passionate about the things and the people I love, and I tend to plan things with all of my heart...our wedding, of course, is no different! Oh, and also Mr. Lion is a first generation American of Cuban descent. I may look more like Lucy than Ricky, but I’m doing my best to incorporate some Latin elements into our vintage-garden-Southern wedding!

Trashing the Dress

July 26th, 2011 @ 5:50 pm by Mrs. Lioness

About a week after our wedding, I met up with some of the bees in New Orleans for fun-filled weekend complete with sight seeing, devouring delicious seafood, and drinking our way through Bourbon Street. I was also fortunate enough to do a Trash the Dress shoot with the lovely Ms. Fondue, who just so happens to be a kick ass photographer!

As you know, I sold my dress, so obviously I didn’t trash my actual wedding dress. Instead, I pulled a Mrs. Cola and found one online for really cheap!

Ms. Fondue and I had a ball, and I was thrilled with the final results. Take a look!

Ms. Fondue and I really wanted to find a fountain for me to jump in, but believe it or not, we couldn’t find a single one! Maybe it’s a good thing that New Orleans doesn’t have any fountains on Bourbon Street…

Are you planning on doing, or did you do a TTD session?

i am on the hunt as we speak for my TTD dress… I refuse to get my real dress dirty. I bought red cowgirl boots and plan on jumping in the river.

I’m still on the fence. Being a 2-dress bride, I have the first, unworn dress (that was uber cheap) in my closet, however it’s a little big and too long since it was never altered. Got a nice orange stain (doritos from the after party perhaps?) on the bottom of my actual dress, so I might use that. Or not at all. I dunno.

I’d love to participate in a TTD session, although I think I’d have to find a different dress as well! Your photos are lovely. :)

I agree, the photos are great but I wouldn’t consider this a TTD. In fact, I would even say if a photographer advertised these as TTD photos, I would not contact her to do mine. These look like some outdoor/adventuerous bridals and I also love the BW doorway shot!

You look beautiful and I love these were in NOLA since that’s my second home but I’m with the other girls…where’s the trashing? I’m doing one with a cheap dress I bought but we’re doing my hair and makeup all funky then I’m having paint and whatnot thrown on me

Such gorgeous photos! I love the dress you found for these. Too bad you couldn’t find a fountain though…the only ones I saw in NOLA were dudes peeing on Bourbon Street at night ;)
