Mrs. Sparkler's Picture
Mrs. Sparkler, Chicago Age and Occupation: 27, Communications Aficionado Fiance's Age and Occupation: 26, Publisher Engagement Date: July 21, 2010 Wedding Date: September 2011 Venue: Chicago Illuminating Company About Me: I’m a Southern lady living in the big city of Chicago. Well, lady may be a stretch, but I’m working hard to keep some Virginia charm in our sleek, urban, wedding-palooza! I’m addicted to marathons, not-so-famous bands, Chicago restaurants, and Mark Twain. I cry during SPCA commercials, and I think LOST was the best show to ever hit television. Mr. S and I met at a classy college mixer and, 7 years later, he’s still by my side. He’s the only child, laid back, free spirit... I’m the oldest of five kids, type-A, organizer. It doesn’t work on paper, but we’ve never paid attention to that stuff anyway. Somehow it works. And like they say, sometimes when you know…you just know.
About Mrs. Sparkler

You’re Invited…

July 26th, 2011 @ 6:40 pm by Mrs. Sparkler

Now that the Sparkler invites are officially on their way to our lovely guests, it’s time to reveal them to you all!

I love our invitations so much I could explode… but they where a PROJECT. Sparks and I spent many nights huddled over our kitchen table assembling, posting, and reprinting until 1AM. The day we dropped them all in the mailbox, I vowed never again to step foot in PaperSource (come on… like that’s gonna happen!) and to always pay someone to address my envelopes in the future (again, probably not gonna happen!). But I am so, SO, happy with the way they turned out! I feel like they represent Sparks and I so well and that they completely match the look and feel we want for our wedding.

I’m going to shut up now and show you the pretty pictures. Without further ado… the Sparkler invites!!!

I totally forgot to put stamps on your invite, Hive! Anyway, don’t worry… the stamps we used are pretty awesome:

You might remember that my all time favorite author is Mr. Mark Twain, and one of my favorite pieces is his Brief Biographical Sketch of George Washington. So when I saw BOTH of these guys at the Post Office, I nearly passed out. I bought a crap load of each of them and went on my merry (dorky) way home. I’m so happy that even the stamps on our invites had some meaning!

Back to the pictures… here’s what our guests will see as they (carefully!) open the envelope:

Ohhhh so cute! Little Sparklers! Now for some close ups of all the ingredients:

And the whole shebang!

I really can’t express to you guys how happy Sparks and I are with these! We’ve gotten so many compliments from our guests and it was definitely worth the extra money we’ve had to save (which was really hard sometimes). If you’re even thinking about working with Rifle Paper Co. DO IT. They were wonderful!

Now Sparks and I come home so excited each day to see who has RSVPed! Did anyone else recently finish their invites? Are you excited to open your mailbox at the end of each day?

Love it and your stamps color coordinate perfectly too! You’re not alone, it’s like Christmas at the Macarons residence every time we get an RSVP.

I think the most exciting part of all this is getting something other than bills, junk mail, my FI’s EW magazine, and netflix in the mail, lol.

Sparkler - how are you dealing with RSVPs / guest count for your welcome party? We are doing something similar since we’re having a mini-destination wedding (wedding party + anyone in town on Friday night who wants to join) but I will have to give a guest count to the venue.

Omg! When I showed this to FI, I used the voice I usually reserve for babies, puppies, and kittens. These invites are ADORABLE. I love them x 100.
