Let me tell you a story about a girl, let’s call her Miss Teaspoon, and a boy, Mr. Teaspoon.

On a beautiful Sunday in May, Miss Teaspoon was dragged to a mystery birthday party with the two friends she was living with at the time, and that is where she first met Mr. Teaspoon while he was celebrating his birthday overlooking Sydney harbour. They met, they said hello, chatted a bit, said goodbye, and that was about it.

Then, over the next few weeks they coincidentally ran into each other a lot, which really wasn’t too much of a surprise as Miss Teaspoon was living with some of Mr. Teaspoon’s friends. About a month later, they sorted themselves out and finally they had their first date! In the years that followed, they enjoyed some wonderful times—Christmas in Thailand one year after the tsunami hit, many New Year’s Eves in Yamba, a wonderful month travelling around the USA, another month travelling around Europe, and many lovely nights at home feeding the lorrikeets from the balcony.

Fast-forward five years from that first date, add on a mortgage, hundreds of home-cooked meals, and oodles of afternoons at the beach, and Miss Teaspoon is bawling tears of joy and Mr. Teaspoon is down on one knee! They are now planning their spring wedding with all their closest friends and family to celebrate with!
