Weddingbee Blog

It was a beautiful sunny day down here in Sydney, Australia when I woke up early to head to our pre-wedding sessions with my personal trainer. The mister had already headed off to golf very early. (I’m pretty sure it was still dark when I mumbled, “Drive safe, play well, I love you!”) I rolled over when my alarm went off and followed my usual morning routine of downloading my emails, checking Twitter and Facebook, and then seeing how cold it was outside. (Wow, Gen Y much?) Needless to say, I didn’t get past the email point. I couldnt believe it—I had an email from Pengy! AND it had an attachment! AND it said “Happy Friday” in the subject line!!! (It was already Saturday here—hello from the future!) I sat bolt upright in bed and could barely read through the email!

Holy bee poop, Batman—I am going to be a bee!!!!

Just quietly, I fear that I am still asleep, because I can’t really be writing my introductory post to the hive! This is so cool!!

I then proceeded to jump around the house!! As every sane 27-year-old woman does when she finds out that she is going to be blogging for such an amazing website!! My mum was coming over to work out with me, so she came to the door and I almost bounced out!! It was a time like this that I really wished my internet friendship with Mrs. Jaguar was real, because Mr. Teaspoon was at golf (no phones on the course) and no one would “get” my excitement!!!

So, I sufficiently convinced Mum and my trainer that I was still a ball of energy even after our workout, and so we took a great photo after our workout session. Yes, we do our workouts overlooking Sydney Harbour!

I’m sure you all want to know a little about the Teaspoons! I am a mad scientist who works in pharmaceutical clinical trials trying galantly to find a cure for cancer—not just one type, either, but all of them. Don’t worry—I’m no martyr. I do get well paid, and the perks of endless travel are definitely worth the job that I absolutely love and would actually continue to do if I won the lotto. OK, I wouldn’t go to work for at least a year, because I would want to go to the Galapogas Islands and meet the blue-footed boobie first, but I promise I do love my job!

I am also studying part time for my master’s degree in drug development, enjoy running (never thought I would say that), and cannot get enough of Harry Potter! Seriously, how cool would it be to be able to FLY!!!

Mr. Teaspoon is the biggest Red Sox fan in the whole of Australia, I’m certain! Our TV recorder is chock-full of Red Sox games—seriously, they play like a million games a year? We do sport once a week down here, not 12 times a week! He is a banker and goes to work every day looking damn fine in his suit and tie. He is also an amazing cook, so Top Chef, Gordon Ramsay, and generally anything on the food channel is again a big hit in our place!

Why the Teaspoons? Well, one of my favourite things to do with my girlfriends (Mr. Teaspoon isn’t so keen) is a good tea party! So I knew I had to be a part of the tea-party generation! After the super cute Teacup was snatched up, I went straight for the little teaspoon! When at home, I will always eat everything with a teaspoon: ice cream, chili, cereal, porridge, everything! Except soup—that’s just plain silly!
