OK, I am totally going to take a moment here and BRAG about the absolutely amazing view that our church has, because it is my favourite view in the whole wide world. On a sunny day the whites of the sails glisten, the grey bridge shines, and the water looks so inviting you could just dive in. Until you realise it is Sydney Harbour that you are looking at and a ferry/yacht/cruise-liner could motor you down in 10 seconds flat!

That’s right, our church is lucky enough to have this extraordinary view! This is the actual photo I took from the floor below the chapel. Of course, I forgot to take any photos IN the chapel—that would have been thinking, wouldn’t it—but I was still in our newly engaged bliss and was super-duper excited that we would be getting married!!

Oh, Sydney, stop it! I can’t believe how beautiful you are! In case you aren’t jealous enough already, this photo was taken in June…yes, the middle of winter here in Australia!

So, where are we getting married? Right on Sydney Harbour at the school where Mr. Teaspoon spent six of his most formative years: high school! As my future mother-in-law is also a teacher at this school, we know the principal rather well and he will be the priest performing our ceremony!

Fr Chris Middleton is the same priest who confirmed me into the Catholic church a few months ago now (stay tuned to hear all about that one!), which was a wonderful experience, so we are absolutely thrilled to be having our wedding here!

It is, however, a ginormous church! It is built to fit over 1,000 school boys, so our measly 100 guests will have to be well shepherded into place to ensure we don’t have a bunch of people on one side or everyone sitting at the back! That is where our ushers will be put to good use!
