For those non-golfers or non-golfing-widows out there, the 19th hole is the proverbial hole after the 18th, i.e., the drinking hole, commonly referred to as the clubhouse!

I think you can guess what’s coming—our reception is at the 19th hole! We will be celebrating our brand new marriage overlooking the beautiful Killara Golf Club! We booked it back in August last year, and since then Mr. Teaspoon has joined up himself, so he is visiting the golf club on a weekly basis—yes, EVERY Saturday morning—to golf his handicap down, spend some time with his dad, and meet plenty of new people! Honestly, I get a bit jealous that he gets to see our reception venue every week, but I think it makes it more homely for us. We often go up there for dinner, drinks, or a barbecue!
This will be the view greeting our guests while they enjoy their pre-dinner drinks and appetisers:

Now if you imagine you turn around and this is the view back to the dining room, this is where the guests will hopefully enjoy their pre-dinner drinks (weather permitting) and without the ugly umbrella folded up.

They will then come through the door you can see above on the left and onto the dance floor. (Please excuse the band setting up—there was a wedding on that night, hence why we were able to see it all set up!)
They will then continue through to the left and enter the dining room, and then they will go past the bridal table (this couple didn’t really have one) and find their seats. They will have passed by the cake table, which will be sitting just inside the door to the left, and they’ll be drooling to get some of that yummy goodness!!

Then they will arrive at their tables, which will be very similar, but ours will look slightly different as we are having white chair covers and different centrepieces. The white chair covers I think make it all a bit more wedding-y, as these chairs are the ones that they use every week!

At the far end of the dining room there is another door and that leads us through to the bar, where there will be tea and coffee at the end of the night, and that room connects to our alternative pre-dinner drinks area. To my dad’s utter dissappointment, we are unable to use the billiard tables, as they are used in competition. It was amazing coming back up here almost six months into our engagement to show my parents, as it is all getting very real. At this stage I had purchased my dress and I could really see us walking in after being announced as Mr. and Mrs. Teaspoon, then our first dance, cutting our cake, and partying the night away with all of our close friends and family!

Dad was obviously the same, as when we showed them where our “secret bridal room” was, where we pop into for 15 minutes or so to have a break between photos and entering the reception, all of a sudden my Dad walked straight back out? We kept talking to the wedding planner about some stuff and Mum told me later he had started crying because he realised that I would be married when we were in here! I think we are going to need an extra supply of tissues for Papa Teaspoon.
