Our Story: Eternity Begins

August 4th, 2011 @ 11:47 am by Mrs. Funnel Cake

I can’t tell you precisely which day I knew that Mr. Funnel Cake wanted to spend the rest of his life with me, but I can tell you that I do I remember the exact moment.

Mr. Funnel Cake has a cd of a band that plays classical crossovers of popular songs. That might sound horrible to some, but FC likes them.

Can you guess why?

One of the melodies of the songs sounded SO similar to the theme music from The Mask of Zorro soundtrack. I swear, every time I would hear this song I would wind up singing “I want to spend my lifetime looooving yooooou” like Tina Arena and Marc Anthony.

This kept going on where I would hear the song and start thinking about The Mask of Zorro. Well, Mr. Funnel Cake decided to download the soundtrack to the movie and one evening he played the very song I kept being reminded of.

He swung me around the living room, dancing to the music and sung along in my ear, “I want to spend my lifetime loving you.” And I got warm and excited, because I knew when he said that, he wasn’t just singing along. He was telling me he wanted to spend the rest of his lifetime with me.

Mr. Funnel Cake was very subtle, and for a few months he kept singing this phrase before we ever began talking about our future together. But from that first moment, I never worried about Mr. FC’s intentions because I was certain he would be there for me. And to this day, Mr. FC still sometimes will put on the Zorro song and it brings an instant smile to my face. When he plays this cheesy song for me, I can’t help but feel so loved.

Do you remember when you found out your partner wanted to spend eternity with you?

Need to catch up?

Love it! Haha for some reason, it makes me think of this time we were dating for about 3 or 4 months, and he said he wanted marry me, and I said I felt the same, and then there was a pause… and slightly panicked he goes, “Wait… did we just get engaged?” Haha… oh, what a romantic :)

The fiance once sang “Iris” by the Goo Goo Dolls to me when we started dating. Fell totally in love with him at that moment.
