So like many a crazy-vain bride before me, I am already starting on my plan to ensure that I look more than picture perfect on our wedding day. I have taken a three-fold approach, which so far seems to be working!

Fitness - This is the one aspect that I knew would be the easiest for me, as I absolutely LOVE to exercise! The sense of achievement, the exhilaration, the endorphins running through you for hours after, the blissful sleep, and the alertness that comes with being active—all of these things make exercise addictive!
My fitness schedule is currently two sessions per week with my personal trainer, two runs of at least five kilometers, and two walks each week. My goals are to increase the two walks to slowly become two jogs and increase the distance of my runs up to ten kilometers! I have done two 10-kilometer fun runs this year, and I am about two weeks away from a 14-kilometer run! I would absolutely love to do a half-marathon. Coming from never being a runner during school or university, it’s becoming quite an accomplishment for me to continue to run and improve!

Diet - This one is the one that I thought would be the hardest, but since joining Weight Watchers, this has been by far the easiest! After I had spoken to a number of people who had had quite a lot of success with Weight Watchers, I thought it couldn’t hurt to try! So, here I am 12 weeks in, and I am down six kilograms! It is so easy to keep track—my exercise helps me earn more food for when I need it (comes in handy for a few wines on the weekend!), and it keeps working! I have had a few bad weeks, but I have always kept under my points and I am still losing weight!

Beauty - This one was the hardest for me. I have had to seek advice from a number of different people. Luckily for my hair, my bridesmaid is also my hairdresser, so I have had her telling me how to look after my hair for years—no tying my wet hair up in an elastic for me!
My skincare and makeup were a huge challenge, so where did I turn? Professionals, of course! I am used to having facials now after Mr. Teaspoon bought me a great package for my birthday a few years ago, and the beautician was honestly shocked that I had never had a facial before! So, my first stop for getting my skincare regime in order was heading back to the spa for a Dermalogica facial with skin mapping. The lovely beautician looked at my skin and, based on what I was already using, made some suggestions for changes, including moisturising MORE to prevent oily skin? Who knew? Now my skin rarely breaks out, save for the occasional small spot due to hormones or stress when I don’t follow my regime!
Makeup is one that I am definitely still working on, and I am linking together my weight-loss goals with this aspect with the following incentives:
For my goal weight I’m getting a new pair of designer jeans!
