Thank You India

August 5th, 2011 @ 12:13 pm by Mrs. Cinnamon Bun

Well no, we didn’t send any thank you cards to India, but that song always gets into my head when I’m writing thank you notes. Speaking of which, I wrote our thank you notes!

Thank You India : wedding calgary thank you 6010361 DSC06691

They’re in the mail and everything. England and Ireland haven’t received theirs yet, but hopefully this week. It was a daunting task that I kept putting off. Before I finally buckled down and did them, the conversation went something like this:

Me: Urrrgh thank you notes.

Cinnamon Buns: You should get on those.

Me: WE should get on those.

Cinnamon Buns: You should get on those, Mrs-unemployed-right-now.

Did I mention this conversation was over the phone because Cinnamon Buns is working away from home? Where the present list and the thank you notes are? So yeah, I buckled down and did them, in my ample unemployed time. I did some while watching Food Network, some with Harry Potter on the background, but they all got done.

Were your thank yous a joint effort, or a single-sided one? I think that’s totally fair, if you have circumstances like ours, where he had no time, and I had all the time in the world.

Thus far all the thank you notes from our shower were written by me and signed by both of us. I didn’t even ask Mr. Ticket to write them because his writing is akin to that of a 5 year old meeting a doctor and I want our loved ones to actually be able to read the notes we send them. I might however change my mind on this by the time the next batch of thank you notes needs to be written…

We were like your guys, I had more time so I wrote all of them except for the two that went to Mr. E’s grandfather and aunt & uncle.

I did them all because I have nice handwriting and his looks like a 5 year old went nuts with a pen. But I made him sign his own name.

I have a question, I see that you used teal envelopes. That is what we’re using for our invitations. You used silver, but did you notice if any color worked just as well? I was hoping to run it through a printer for addresses or use a stamp, but neither use metallic ink. I am kind of stressing over this. Thanks!

Ugh, we did half before our recent big move and now we need to crank out the rest. Thanks for the reminder!

I wrote ours and we both signed them. It was a really good feeling (akin to mailing off our invitations) once they were all done!

They look really pretty! I’m sure I’ll be the one writing all of our thank you’s too, Mr. P is a man of too few words with that stuff.

I have a feeling this will be my job, if only because I’m so controlling I’d be like, “Why did you write that? WRITE HOW WE USED THE THING. ‘Dear so and so, thank you for the tea pot, we have already made some yummy tea in it.’” I can’t believe he wants to spend the rest of his life with me.

I will definitely be writing them, but will make him sign his name, and probably stamp the envelopes ;) I know his mama taught him well, he has great manners, but things like thank yous and cards wont get done unless I do them. Whatev’s, I’m cool with it!

I’m sure it feels great to be done with them!!

We both did them, though I did the bulk of the writing (and the bulk of the nagging when it took him WEEKS to write three friggin’ notes). Geez.

Nice work! You kick butt, CB!
My envelopes are a very similar color, and they soak my white pen’s ink right up. :( Yours look great — what kind of pen did you use??

@PeacocksAndCandy and @Mrs. Panther:

I used a white opaque pen (I think I got it at Michaels? If not, a scrapbook store). It is an ‘Inkssentials Opaque pen’.

It worked well when I wrote the addresses slowly. I had to be deliberately slow to keep the lines nice.

Love the envelopes! I did most of our thank you notes and had Mr. Cuke Sammie do about three or four of people he knew really well like the Sammie Sisters!
