About Mrs. Pony

After establishing what I thought would be a clear vision for our centerpieces, I began collecting green vases and milk glass in haste. I set a limit of $2 for my vases (although I found most for $1 or less) and began collecting/hoarding.

Get ready for a lot of green coming your way:

We believe we will have about 18 tables of guests, so our collection is more than adequate to remove some of the larger or more common looking pieces to keep the tables looking different and eclectic. Plus, we have some extras in case we need to decide add arrangements at other tables, like the cake table or next to the memorial table.

I began to question my green vase choice when my florist tried (and failed) to hide his distaste for our vase choice at our initial meeting, but we’re sticking with them. They might scream unwanted ’70s green vases to some, but I love them and I think they will add the touch of green I’m craving.

Have you had a vendor question your choices only to become more entrenched in your decision?

Up next: I get my fix of milk glass.

Personally, I *love* the green vases. They give a personal touch and aren’t your typical centerpieces.

I’m using green glass vases as well! We’re getting married on St. Patrick’s Day so I wanted some green touches. I think they’re awesome.

These are great and I love the color. BTW, what are you going to do with them after the wedding? I have a few vases hanging in my house and I don’t know what to do with them :(

I love your vases! I’m not normally a huge advocate of green but I really like the collection you’ve gotten and I think they will look fantastic with your centerpieces.

I love the vases! One of the initial florists told me she HATED carnations and that they “looked cheap and were only for funerals”. Needless to say, I went with a different florist, who saw my vision and I loved my carnations mixed in our arrangements on my day! Trust your gut!

@MySunshine: I like funky. Dude needs to recognize.
@Mrs. Hyena: Ha! Awesome!
@TheEdge: Thanks!
@Mrs. Waffle: Aw, thanks!
@Miss Parasol: I hope the guests like them and don’t think they look too retro, ha!
@Pittsburgher2: What a great idea! They’re so easy to find and inexpensive too!
@Miss Ladyfingers: Thanks, he’ll see my vision when I pull it all together.
@bRooklynRocks: I’m planning on keeping a few that are special to me and donating most of them. We just don’t have the space in DC to keep them around. If we still have our florals in them at the end of the night I’d like to donate them to a cancer center or something where they’ll bring happiness to others.
@Miss Handbag: So true! :)
@Mrs. Elephant: Thanks!
@Miss Ticket: It makes sense in my mind, we’ll see how it turns out though.
@doxie: Wow, why would they say something like that? Lame. Glad you stuck with what you wanted!
@JenBabe: Mockup post to come later this week, promise! :)

ooooh, I have A LOT of these!!! Especially from the top two photos!!! As does my mom! Pretty sure there’s even more in storage that was my grandmother’s, too!
Ignore the florist! These have SUCH an antique-feel to them (at least for me, lol).

I am using these vases for my centerpieces too! I’m adding some white tin cans that are punched with holes and putting led tealights in them.

This is a great idea! I see this color of glass vases at the thrift store all the time. We just bought one the other day and it’s on our kitchen table! :)
