Miss Honey's Picture
Mrs. Honey, Durango, CO Age and Occupation: 28, Financial Assistant Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Lab Tech/Phlebotomist Engagement Date: August 1, 2010 Wedding Date: January 2012 Venue: Vallecito Lake About Me: I am a Colorado girl through and through, marrying an adrenaline-fueled Alabama boy. We love the outdoors just about as much as we love spoiling our dog and three cats. On any given weekend you can find us being adventurous, doing anything from rafting to snowboarding, and everything in between. We live in an outdoor mecca and truly believe in "Work Hard, Play Harder." I'm an optimist to the core, a crafter wannabe, a Southern food cook-in-training and a big time believer in girls nights. We met, fell in love and got engaged in eight short months and are now knee-deep in planning what we hope to be a super-fun, very us wedding celebration. Join us as we plan a rustic meets whimsical, Colorado winter wedding with loads of personal touches and good food!
About Miss Honey

Our Country Side

August 9th, 2011 @ 6:36 pm by Mrs. Honey

I showed off our urban inspired engagement pictures and I hinted that our next shoot would be more “Colorado” inspired. They turned out beautiful and we were once again reminded how lucky we are to have such a talented friend. After being kicked out of the first spot we attempted to shoot at*, we headed to a stunning location in Hermosa Valley right along the Animas River. BM Candace had a vision for this engagement shoot and I think she did an amazing job executing it.

We hauled some props to the field, including pillows and a down comforter, and set up our own little sanctuary in the middle of this beautiful setting:

The Honeys aren’t all serious, so we had to have a pillow fight:

Before the sun set, we took to the river with our canoe, with Zeus swimming along side:

And I’ll leave you with my absolute favorite picture:

*Side story: we first stopped at a piece of private land, and the owner reluctantly agreed to let us take some pictures there…but as soon as he saw us pulling a futon and blankets out of the truck, he immediately revoked our privileges. We found it amusing, considering he had no idea what our vision actually was, and probably thought the worse.

Tell me about your engagement picture locations, hive!

Thanks ladies! @Mrs. Elephant: I had to refrain from overloading this post with pictures of us in the field, it was hard to narrow it down!
@Miss Cannon, @kayakgirl73: The canoe adventure almost ended with both of us in the water, which probably would have made for some good shots!
@Miss Pony: Seriously, doesn’t everyone read wedding blogs?! Ha!
Thanks for all your kind words ladies!!
