Mrs. Elephant, Dallas, TX Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Operations Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, IT Student/Store Manager Engagement Date: March 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: The Tribute Golf Club About Me: I'm a Philly native creating roots deep in the heart of Texas. I might be a little obsessed capturing those Kodak moments of anything and everything (mainly on vacations). I've become more of a gamer thanks to Mr. Elephant, who I met online and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with. We are planning a wedding based on our favorite colors, blue and green, with a travel theme for 150 of our closest friends and family. Hopefully our long (2-year) engagement won't kill me!
About Mrs. Elephant

I was really excited about the anniversary dance at our wedding. Of course we were knocked out at the beginning which Mr. E joked about being a little unfair. ;)

Per request from Mama E, we selected Al Green’s “Let’s Stay Together” for the couples to dance to. This was my parents’ first dance song at their wedding back in 1977.

We had couples who had recently celebrated their first anniversaries.

BM Cali and Groomsman Wake Boarder were happy to dance past the 5 year mark.

Mama & Daddy E made it pretty far with their 34 years.

It finally came down to Mr. E’s aunt and uncle who had been married for 40 years.

And my aunt and uncle who have been married for 49 years.

We presented my aunt and uncle with a little gift and then danced the rest of the song with them.

It was so much fun to honor all of the couples that came out to celebrate with us. Up next, some photo booth craziness.

If you did an anniversary dance, how many years was the longest couple married for?

This is such a wonderful idea-I’ve never been to a wedding that did this, but it seems like a beautiful way to celebrate lasting marriages!

My brother and SIL did one. It was only slightly rigged as we knew they were getting married on my aunt and uncle’s 50th wedding anniversary. At the end of the dance they were presented with a mini cake. It was very sweet.

We did this too and it was great. Our winning couple was married 64 years!!! Very impressive. And I agree with Mr. E, it feels a little unfair getting booted so quickly from your own dance floor! :)

I think I may incorporate this idea because there are a lot of couples coming to our wedding and I don’t know for sure how long they’ve all been married. But there aren’t that many coming who only have short marriages. Should be interesting…

My grandparents will be at 57 years at my wedding. My other grandparents made it 65 (!!!!) before Grandpa passed away.
