This is where I tell you all about how ridiculously anal I am! Shame, shame…I am way way too organised sometimes. Not to worry, it is becoming a great strength to have when it comes to wedding planning!
From the day after we got engaged, I started putting Post-It notes on the wall above my study desk every time I thought of something that we needed to do for the wedding. I like to call it the great Post-It note wall! It is still there in all its glory! However, now there are a lot more things on the “done” side of the wall rather than in the month-by-month organisation area.
I am a huge fan of the paper method of organising. You see, I am a visual person and I love seeing all those Post-Its on the done wall; crossing them off and moving them across is such an awesome feeling! The mister has also added a few motivational Post-Its to help me when I’m studying, too!
However, I still need somewhere to store all those large documents like our agreements, options for ceremony wording, and other bits and bobs that don’t quite fit onto a Post-it note, and that’s where my super-handy binder steps in. This is what I use for all those documents that I don’t need to use that much, but which need to be in a central place. They are all organised under different tabs to help me find them quickly. The best one is the intinerary of our honeymoon—eep!
Here are all the tabs that I have inside, all using the sticking-down-type dividers, so that I can just add them when I need them!
Now, what would I use when I go to see people or talk to people on the phone and I need to take notes? Well, that’s where my dear friend Kiki K comes in and this beautiful little organisation book:
Of the five women I know who are getting married in the next six to nine months (aside from all you lovely bees, of course), they all have this book! That’s how amazing it is! When you first open the page, you are greeted with a nice to-do list to keep you focused and help make sure that you aren’t forgetting anything:
Inside you can find a number of dividers that help us to categorise everything and write notes and also lead us with points that we should consider, as well as leaving plenty of space to staple things in and write lots of notes!
Yes, they are our options for our invites, and I stuck the business cards in there as well!
Are you convinced now of my ridiculously anal-retentive nature?
