How Inviting

August 11th, 2011 @ 10:39 am by Mrs. Teaspoon

Now that Australia Post has had plenty of time to get all our invites out, I am finally able to reveal to you our invitation suite! Our dear friend is responsible for the stunning design of the invites, with a little help from the wonderful Alison and Martin at Fine Invitations, who did a few colour adjustments and changed some of the font to make it look more like a wedding invitation!

Now, we are not particularly crafty kids, so we were lucky enough to find an invitation place that could do the entire invitation suite without any DIY required from us, and they were still under our budget! Whilst we had a thousand choices for different elements, we really had a pretty good idea about what I—whoops, I mean we—wanted! I think that the mister had a little trouble envisioning exactly what I was going on about, because we didn’t exactly have a complete sample. Now that we have the invites, though, they look amazing and we both absolutely love them!

So, without further ado, I know you just want to see the pictures!!!

Of course we have invited the VIPs—Mickey and Minnie, Pope Benedict XVI, Bryan Adams, and our wonderful Queen Elizabeth II.

When they open their envelopes, they will be greeted with this beautiful bow, which is actually quite difficult to get looking good! I just love the classic look of the ivory ribbon against the navy invitation. It’s like you are opening a little present!

Inside is our actual wedding invite; this really makes everything so real! The invite is a little different to the traditional wedding invite since it has blue squiggles (yes, that is the technical term!), which I hope you like, because we will be seeing a lot more of them! We have them in store on our program, place cards, cake, wedding candles, and our menu cards. Hopefully it will be subtle enough to look classic and modern and bring all the elements of our wedding together!

We are absolutely thrilled with how they turned out and how amazing they look!

Btw, they look beautiful :-) I think we used the same navy cardstock for our pocketfolds, or at least a very similar one!

These are absolutely beautiful!! I would feel exactly like I was getting a present if I received one of these. And the squiggles are perfect. I can’t wait to see the pictures of your cake.
