Mrs. Cucumber Sandwich, Washington, DC/Cape May, NJ Age and Occupation: 28, School Counselor Fiance's Age and Occupation: 40, Collegiate Athletics Engagement Date: March 27, 2010 Wedding Date: October 2011 Venue: Congress Hall Hotel About Me: I am a school counselor who spends my day wrangling children and my nights attempting to be creative with wedding projects. My enthusiasm for each of these activities far surpasses my skill. Thank goodness Mr. Cucumber Sandwich is there to pick up the pieces and be the voice of reason about my DIY tries. I have an obsession with terrible romantic comedies (‘From Justin to Kelly’ anyone?, anyone?!?), competitive Scrabble play, and hot dogs. I could eat astronaut ice cream for every meal and can’t seem to resist buying more shoes. Our wedding is going to be a true hodge podge of semi-destination, tradition, Yuengling, New England charm, with just a dash of ‘Jersey Shore’ thrown in. It has been six years in the making and I can’t wait to marry my best friend.

I Spy…

… with my little eye something that starts with “I”

I Spy... : wedding cape may invitations stationery P802010 P802010

Need a hint about what all that brown could be?!?

See that maniacal, crazed look in my eye? That look could only come from hours spent finishing the CukeSammie invitations! I am so relieved that they are finally in the mail and on their way to guests as we speak. These invitations were a hell beast and I am still recovering from the trauma they inflicted. It was a miracle they even made it the mail at all.

We are waiting just a couple more a-cross-the-country people to receive them but I can’t wait to show them to you tomorrow! Can you feel that excitement building?

Let’s hear your horror stories of getting your invites out on time!

I am behind in getting our at home reception invites out in time cuz we had to reorder them since there was a miscommunication between us and my future Mother in Law who is hosting the ceremony. She wasn’t pleased with them so we offered to pay to have them reprinted so that means as soon as we get them I’ll have to get to work fast to get the address labels done on the computer and get them in the mail. It’s going to be a stressful ordeal so I can’t wait until they’re all mailed out. At least there’s only 60 invitations.

Oh man. I’m with you on the recovering from trauma. Our hell beasts aren’t yet in the mail but they are sitting pretty in a box waiting to be mailed. That box haunts me…

Mmm, anything in a kraft brown envelope is exciting in my book! Congratulations on flying through one of the big hurdles of wedding planning. :D

I would have to write you a book.

Ordered double what I should have.

In-Laws graciously paid for them. Forgot they paid for them. Didn’t recognize the charge. Cancelled payment. Re-paid for them.

Had to make inserts with Hotel info, which didn’t look nearly as nice as the actual invite.

Went on holidays the exact week they should have been sent out.

All in the mail now except for 3 people who are out of the country, one of which I don’t have an address for STILL and the other two is mostly my procrastination… *SIGH*

@Miss Ticket: It has been a couple of weeks and I still have nightmares about the box.
