Mrs. Elephant's Picture
Mrs. Elephant, Dallas, TX Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Operations Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 27, IT Student/Store Manager Engagement Date: March 29, 2009 Wedding Date: April 2011 Venue: The Tribute Golf Club About Me: I'm a Philly native creating roots deep in the heart of Texas. I might be a little obsessed capturing those Kodak moments of anything and everything (mainly on vacations). I've become more of a gamer thanks to Mr. Elephant, who I met online and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with. We are planning a wedding based on our favorite colors, blue and green, with a travel theme for 150 of our closest friends and family. Hopefully our long (2-year) engagement won't kill me!
About Mrs. Elephant

With all of my organization, I thought we were beyond prepared for our wedding. Everything was packed, labeled and ready to go. The one thing that I forgot was probably one of the most important things of the night our marriage license.

Lynn’s 3rd photographer Audrey was a lifesaver and took my keys to go back to our apartment to get it. I later found out that she had to make two trips since no one listened to me when I said she would have to go through the garage because the front door was double locked.

I gave Audrey a huge hug when she got back

With the marriage license in hand, we headed to the pub to have it signed by Revered Rosset.

Signed, sealed, delivered. We were legally wed.

With that minor detail taken care of, we headed back to the dance floor in time for the soul train line.

If you look in the far left of the picture above you will see my cousin Jason’s expression as his mom, my Aunt Bunny breaks it down. I guess he didn’t think she was breaking it down enough, and he needed to show her how it’s done.

My hubby forgot the rings! Luckily they remembered on the way to the church, but he had also forgot his house keys, so they had to make a pit stop at the hotel on their way. It’s funny because I jokingly reminded him before the wedding not to forget the rings, and he totally did! It obviously wasn’t a big deal though since they were picked up no problem before the ceremony.

I realized I forgot our marriage license with 30 minutes until the ceremony! Our officiant wasn’t worried and said, “That’s ok, this will just be considered a rehearsal and then you can come back later and I’ll sign it with a quick ceremony.” There was no way I was having that. It was a destination wedding and all those people were there, we were having the real deal wedding! My step-dad rushed back to the rental house and got it back in time…phew.

I forgot our passports, and we were leaving the next morning from the hotel to go on our honeymoon!! Thankfully, I remembered during the reception, and my sister took us to get them before we headed to the hotel. Oh, and I also left my purse at the hotel, with all the final deposit checks in it!! I can’t believe 2 crucial things that I forgot lol. My bff’s dad went after the ceremony to get them for us

awesome dance pictures!!! That’s great that the photographer was able to get your license! The only thing I forgot was the list of pictures I wanted and then I had to re-write it and forgot some of them…it all worked out though!

@Catherine: That’s so funny that you told him not to forget them! Glad you guys were able to get them before the ceremony!

@Hgiel46137: Oh wow! I would have been just like you, no way I would have had a “rehearsal”.

@Mrs. Tartlet: @Mrs. Hippo: @Mrs. Trail Mix: @Miss Pony: @Miss Cannon: When I first saw our reception pictures, I couldn’t stop laughing at our friends and family. They sure know how to show off a good time!

@MrsSl82be: How awesome of your BFF’s dad! I was so thankful that someone was able to get ours without one of us having to leave.

@pfizertobe: Thank you!! I think they’re pretty awesome ;)

@Mrs. Rubber Stamps: Glad you were able to remember most of them. I forgot some shots that I would have loved to have, but like you said it all worked out.

My best friend forgot her marriage license too! My fiancee rushed back to the hotel to retrieve it. He missed the ceremony, but made it back right as they were finishing. Perfect timing for them to sign it! She’s my matron of honor and will not be the one responsible for remembering the license! :)

I’m starting to think it’s funny how many bees forget to do the legal part of the ceremony. Priorities. ;-)

Glad I don’t have to worry because this part is done for us! :D
