About Mrs. Teaspoon

Hair, There, and Everywhere!

August 16th, 2011 @ 12:13 pm by Mrs. Teaspoon

I had my hair done today with my bridesmaid, and we got talking about hairstyles, as you do…when your bridesmaid is also your hairdresser! Again, one of those small things that I am finding myself obsessing over!

Now, my hair is currently not very long and there is not very much of it. It is about three inches longer than it is here in this picture taken in October—in Roma. Beautiful!!

I know I want something reasonably simple that doesn’t require an entire support team to keep it in place, so something in a low bun or chignon is very appealing. I still want something a little interesting, though! Whilst for half of the day my hair will be covered with a beautiful veil (that you will hear about soon enough!), the other half of the day I will be sporting a stunning little hair flower!

So, something simple yet interesting leads me to these:

And of course my favourite inspiration is actually from Mrs. Frozen Yogurt and her hair trial, which is more the “look” that I am going for, with a more condensed bun structure:

So, are we seeing a trend here?? A low, curled under, simple bun. Now, since I don’t have the oomph to pull this little number off, Bridesmaid M has informed me that we can use something called a filler, which is basically a piece of stuffing they use to beef up your hair and make it look more voluminous! Genius! I can have my super-practical short hair and nice wedding hair, too! Although that short hair is getting pretty long now, because apparently “we” (being the royal we—I) are growing my hair until the wedding! Glad I have a bridesmaid who is my hairdresser and refuses to cut my hair (or wait, am I?)

Bring on the post-wedding chop!

You could always use extensions to fill it out too! I was totally opposed to it at first but tried them and love the way my hair looks with them!
