Mrs. Cannon's Picture
Mrs. Cannon, Toledo, OH Age and Occupation: 27, Financial Analyst Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Assembler Engagement Date: February 28, 2011 Wedding Date: September 2011 Venue: Epworth UMC & Ward Pavilion About Me: I'm the curious combination of being a go-with-the-flow, laid back, obsessive planner. I try desperately to stay as busy as possible at all times (and am succeeding big time right now!) My biggest loves in life are Law & Order: SVU, Community (the show, not the concept, although I like that, too), ice cream, white cheddar popcorn, beer, hiking, knitting, decorating, writing, being outside, spending time with friends and family and musical theater. Mr. Cannon is pretty sweet, too. We've had a lot of fun traveling and having adventures all over the country, but have finally moved back near our hometown to settle down. We're planning a low-key, colorful, fun wedding and an awesome-to-the-max reception.
About Mrs. Cannon

Super Stud

August 16th, 2011 @ 11:23 am by Mrs. Cannon

I had to go back and make sure I hadn’t posted about this already, because I’ve been meaning to for a while. We finally got Mr. Cannon a suit a few weeks ago! It was an arduous task, not only because we were having a hard time finding what we were looking for in the right size, but also because Cherry Bomb was very on edge throughout our search. She doesn’t usually nap, but on that particular day, she had gotten up early and was a complete wreck by the time we were shopping. There was a tantrum in nearly every store in the mall until I lulled her into a nap while bouncing to the dance music in Express. While I was glad she was finally asleep instead of yelling, it left me carrying around twenty-some pounds of toddler dead-weight for the rest of the afternoon since I hadn’t bothered to bring in her stroller. In other words, buying this suit was not my favorite shopping trip.

Luckily, by the time Cherry Bomb passed out, we had found what we were going to get, and it was just a matter of going back and buying it. We were looking for a grey suit, pink shirt and black tie. Mr. Cannon got his shirt and tie at Express, and got his suit at Macy’s. The suit was on sale for a good price, and we are very happy with it. The pants definitely need some hemming and the jacket could use some alterations, but I think it’s a pretty good look!

I was very excited to get him to try on his new outfit because it was the first time I had ever seen him in a suit! Seriously, the man did not own a suit until now. It looks like he’ll be able to check “own a suit” AND “get married” off his Being a Grown-up Checklist now. And both before he’s thirty—what an over-achiever! (Sorry, I’ve been teasing him mercilessly about not owning a suit for years now, so I have to get my last few jabs in.)

The groomsmen are just wearing grey pants and colored shirts with black ties, so they will look dressy without looking fancy, which is kind of what we’re going for. I am very pleased that all the menswear is done because I have to admit I was worried about it for awhile. Mr. Cannon had a very lax attitude towards the whole thing, and I was beginning to worry we were going to be stopping at the mall on the way to the rehearsal dinner to find something for him to wear to the wedding. Luckily, he picked up on my hints that his “we’ve got time” attitude was driving me crazy pretty quickly and we got it done with time to spare.

So what do you think, Hive? Doesn’t he look great in a suit? And to think, I agreed to marry him before I had seen him look this dreamy! Although it’s his smile that really makes the outfit, so I guess I have seen him look this dreamy before. (This makes up for all the teasing earlier, right?)

Yay for coloured shirts! My FI is wearing a red one - I totally agree about the looking formal but still fun. Mr. Cannon looks great. :)

Oh my, I love that pink shirt with the black tie. I think the groomsman are going to look fantastic with the solid shirts and black tie!

Ohhh, boy, do I know what it’s like to have a tempermental, tiredness-induced cranky baby!!! (My daughter, oddly enough, was way worse than my son! go figure!)
Been there soooo many times with the dead-weight-of-sleeping-baby-without-stroller problem.
Glad to hear the shopping trip was a success despite a cranky Cherry Bomb!!! (I say that as one mother to another…)
The suit looks great! My FI has one suit and, well, I always want to jump him whenever he wears it. It’s black with a red tie. And he also has a black leather trenchcoat to wear with it! *dreamy sigh*

He looks great! I love that colorful shirt! And, my dad has never owned or worn a suit, so Mr. Cannon is ahead of the game!

He looks so sharp! Great color combo. Mr. Ballcap doesn’t own a suit and has been talking about getting one for months now (even though we are doing tuxes for the wedding). I’m going to have to show him Mr. Cannon’s!

Thanks, ladies! I think he looks pretty sharp!
@Ryna: I was glad we were able to get everything on that trip. There’s nothing worse than going through all that drama with your kid and then having to go do it again because you didn’t get it done the first time!

@Miss Pony: I think if you don’t need one for work or whatever, why own one? Mr. Cannon had wanted one for awhile for funerals and job interviews and that sort of thing, but probably would have been happy to go through life without one as well. :)

@Miss Sunhat: If he wants one, you should definitely check out Macy’s soon! They’re having a lot of end of season stuff now, and I think Mr. Cannon’s suit was under $250.

Well the mister cleans up real nice-like!! I tease MY mister because he only owns one suit; its black and what does he want to wear for the wedding? Well the one hanging in his closet, of course, why buy new?!!

Oh what to do with him!! teehee =)

That suit rocks! I wish we were going for something other than the traditional black tux, but I can live vicariously through you!

It’s fun to see another groom rocking the coloured shirt/solid tie combo! That’s what we did for Mr CB and the groomsmen!

Ugh I am so behind in reading but I had to comment…. we still haven’t gotten our groomsmens suits either and I have been bugging Mr. CS to no end! What is it with guys and their ‘we have time’ approach to everything. He assures me we are picking up the suits this week but I am a nervous nelly that we are running out of time!
