I had to go back and make sure I hadn’t posted about this already, because I’ve been meaning to for a while. We finally got Mr. Cannon a suit a few weeks ago! It was an arduous task, not only because we were having a hard time finding what we were looking for in the right size, but also because Cherry Bomb was very on edge throughout our search. She doesn’t usually nap, but on that particular day, she had gotten up early and was a complete wreck by the time we were shopping. There was a tantrum in nearly every store in the mall until I lulled her into a nap while bouncing to the dance music in Express. While I was glad she was finally asleep instead of yelling, it left me carrying around twenty-some pounds of toddler dead-weight for the rest of the afternoon since I hadn’t bothered to bring in her stroller. In other words, buying this suit was not my favorite shopping trip.
Luckily, by the time Cherry Bomb passed out, we had found what we were going to get, and it was just a matter of going back and buying it. We were looking for a grey suit, pink shirt and black tie. Mr. Cannon got his shirt and tie at Express, and got his suit at Macy’s. The suit was on sale for a good price, and we are very happy with it. The pants definitely need some hemming and the jacket could use some alterations, but I think it’s a pretty good look!

I was very excited to get him to try on his new outfit because it was the first time I had ever seen him in a suit! Seriously, the man did not own a suit until now. It looks like he’ll be able to check “own a suit” AND “get married” off his Being a Grown-up Checklist now. And both before he’s thirty—what an over-achiever! (Sorry, I’ve been teasing him mercilessly about not owning a suit for years now, so I have to get my last few jabs in.)

The groomsmen are just wearing grey pants and colored shirts with black ties, so they will look dressy without looking fancy, which is kind of what we’re going for. I am very pleased that all the menswear is done because I have to admit I was worried about it for awhile. Mr. Cannon had a very lax attitude towards the whole thing, and I was beginning to worry we were going to be stopping at the mall on the way to the rehearsal dinner to find something for him to wear to the wedding. Luckily, he picked up on my hints that his “we’ve got time” attitude was driving me crazy pretty quickly and we got it done with time to spare.
So what do you think, Hive? Doesn’t he look great in a suit? And to think, I agreed to marry him before I had seen him look this dreamy! Although it’s his smile that really makes the outfit, so I guess I have seen him look this dreamy before. (This makes up for all the teasing earlier, right?)
