The Dangers of Etsy

August 17th, 2011 @ 10:50 am by Mrs. Ticket

Every time I visit the mystical and magical site known as Etsy, I want to buy something! Now if that isn’t dangerous I don’t know what is.

To date I have made nearly 20 purchases from Etsy since Mr. Ticket and I first got engaged. I figured now would be a good time to share some of the awesome little details with you.

First purchase from amazing Etsy seller BeachHouseLiving

The picture above is my very first Etsy purchase, the Mr. & Mrs. forks. While they certainly weren’t a necessity, I couldn’t be more pleased with them. When I first saw them online I was swept away with the wedding dreaminess of it all. I could just imagine Mr. Ticket and me eating our wedding cake with these and then using them each year on our anniversary thereafter. (My absolute FAVORITE wedding details are the things you get to keep and use after the wedding.) When these arrived in the mail, I was in no way disappointed. They are beautiful! I can’t wait to use them! I also might add this was not the only purchase I made from this particular Etsy seller…

These beautiful spoons will be used in another little project for our wedding…the candy buffet! Many many more details to come on that later.

Am I the only one that goes a little crazy with the Etsy shopping, or are you guilty too? Isn’t it just amazing how many things you can find there?!

Etsy is so addicting. I cannot get enough. I have spent hours just perusing different sellers and the really great things they’ve come up with! It’s a crafter’s heaven! I’ve also been able to reach out to a lot of the vendors and they’ve been able to make custom pieces for me. I’ve bought gifts for my friends on it, and they always love them!

Oh thanks! Now I want those forks! I love Etsy! My most recent purchase is a little ring bearer bowl that I will be able to use after to hold my jewelry. Off to Etsy now I guess!

I love Etsy. My first Etsy purchase was one of Twig and Honey’s flower hair pieces. I’m glad I got it then since she is crazy popular now!

I’m also a seller on Etsy now and for the most part I love the community among the Etsy artisans on there. Great wedding site for sure!

I like to thank ETSY for basically supplying all my wedding needs. I could be a spokesperson for that site. My fiance thinks i am crazy…

Oh my gosh, Etsy is so dangerous! But also so awesome! I got my veil on Etsy, and it was actually cheaper there than anywhere else I found, so I was thrilled!

Those forks are sooo cute! I might have to invest in those when we get the money. I know exactly what you mean about Etsy being addicting. I’ve made several purchases off of Etsy for my wedding as well.

@Laura - I bought my hair piece from Etsy too!

@Miss Parasol & sheilad72 - Which shop did you buy your veil from? I’m still looking for a chapel length veil.

@whitwhit - I LOVE the hangers too! I may or may not have bought one recently… haha that’s for another post though.

I bought my from Rohm: http://www.etsy.com/shop/Rohm. Her shop is closed right now while she catches up on orders, but she should be back soon! I got a fingertip mantilla veil from her, and it’s gorgeous! The lace is so soft and pretty, and it looks so beautiful on me! I love it! And it was only $150, which is a steal for that type of veil!

I keep seeing Etsy this & Etsy that… so far I have stayed away, but only because I am an impulsive shopper & KNOW that I need a game plan before I surround myself with so many amazing things. lol

To that I say, send a search party if I am away for more than a few days K!?!

I had those forks bookmarked on my computer to buy and forgot until yesterday when I saw your post! Just in time…only 22 days left! I ordered a set with the scroll font. Soooo pretty :)
