I forgot to tell you about our card swap early in our wedding day. Months before the wedding, Mr Hot Wings and I decided we would gift each other with cards on our wedding day. We never mentioned it again. So I was really happy when I got my card that day. He remembered! We both actually wrote our messages earlier that morning to send our love to one another. We both were definitely on the same page. So, before the start of the day’s ceremonies, we exchanged cards.
It really was the perfect way to set the mood for everything that was about to happen. Having the card in my hand, I knew it was just about time to go. No tears came, but a serious rush of joy came over me. Now, almost a year later, I can still feel the anticipation that I felt when I got my card.

We exchanged cards (well he wrote a book), but I love being able to re read those words and feeling how I felt on our wedding day.

I really like the idea of exchanging cards. Originally, I was thinking we would exchange gifts. But then I was thinking that since he is getting me a really nice band, maybe I should just be the one to get him a gift. Then I was thinking that we don’t have room in our budget for me to even get him a gift! Yikes!! So cards I think are a very appropriate alternative. Love the idea!
@lisamarieloves: I know what you mean. I saw so many people giving each other gifts. But we really felt like that wasn’t us. Our gift was our honeymoon and the wedding. The card was enough to keep us focused on the reason we were really there that day. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
We haven’t talked about it yet, but I’m seriously hoping we do exchange something on our wedding day.
