In theory, on our wedding day we will be spending some time sitting—driving to the church, driving to the reception, on the golf buggies going to take photos, eating dinner, listening to speeches, driving to our hotel. However, I am guessing that I will not want to sit down all day, judging from our engagement party when I spent the entire evening chatting away with all our friends and family. I was not used to knowing so many people in a small area; I didn’t have a clue who to talk to! All that equals a lot of time on my tootsies, so I’ll want some super comfy shoes!
I already have my official wedding shoes: the ones I will wear down the aisle, for our first dance, for pictures and for the majority of the day. However, when I was out the other night standing around I realised that my feet often get sore in high heels. My wedding shoes are high heels. I intend on doing a lot more dancing after our first dance. Do you see where im going with this? Flats are required, STAT. Even if I don’t wear them, it will be good to have an alternative in case of sore footsies.
Now, there is the problem: they will look a little less special than my fancy blue wedding shoes!
I love me a good flat, don’t get me wrong, but I just feel like heels make an outfit special! They are 100 times more flattering, that’s for sure, and they take any outfit from casual to dressy. (OK, maybe not your jim jams!)
OK, are you ready for another dress hint? This is somewhat expected, but my dress extends to the floor, so you pretty much won’t actually be able to see my shoes except for when I walk around. Still, that doesn’t mean that I can’t completely obsess about every flat shoe that I think is either bridal, or sparkly, or just cool. I need to prepare myself for the amount of dancing I intend on doing!
So, I headed for the nearest shoe shop to find me some flats (yes, the nearest shoe shop is online! - bonus, I’m already there!).
Are they the most gorgeous bridal flats in the world? They definitely have the price tag to match, and whilst the Aussie dollar against the pound is quite good, it’s not good enough to justify over $250 on a second pair of shoes plus shipping! I’m not even sure they would get here in time, actually!
What about with some pretty sparkle? I originally saw these on Miss Parasol’s post of a few weeks ago and it really got me thinking about how pretty flats can be!

The other thing is that I don’t just need some flats for myself—I also think my bridesmaids will be in desperate need of foot relief after a very very long day!
Are you a two shoe bride? If you’ll be slipping into flats, what do they look like?
