I had butterflies in my stomach and sweaty palms on my way to meet Mr. Brooch for our first look. The anticipation was high for the both of us. I remember walking out of the manor to the garden, turning to one of my bridesmaids and saying, “I hope he likes me!”

Walking down the stairs to the fountain, I felt a deep sense of thankfulness for such a beautiful venue and great weather. It was a bit overcast at this point, but our photographers said that was perfect for picture taking.

I have to admit that when I got to the bottom, I thought of Mrs. Scissors and contemplated running. I was just that excited!

I’ll never forget right before we saw each other; right as I reached him, I stopped in awe that we were finally here—finally having our first look!

Is this really happening?

As I stood behind him, he whispered, “I hear you back there. Are you going to tap my shoulder?”

It was so cute!

Deep breath!

When I did, he turned, and the culmination of 5 years dating, 18 months planning, and forever at our fingertips hit us both like a ton of bricks—Mr. Brooch might not admit it now, but he cried! We both did!

You can kinda see the emotion on Mr. Brooch’s face in the next picture.

He pretty much face palmed when he saw me.

From there, we swirled and twirled, checking each other out. We kissed and kissed some more. We talked about the events of the morning and what was to come next. Our wedding was finally here and this was the perfect kick off!
