August 23 happens to be a pretty significant date in my life. It was the day my Grandmother and Grandfather were married. It was the day that my nephews were born. And it was also the day that my first post as a bee went live, one year ago. It’s been a wonderful year full of highs and lows, a lot of excitement, and gratitude that I’ve had the opportunity to share this community with you. I can’t believe one year has passed already and my time here as an active bee is nearing an end. I’ve got plenty of recaps to show you still. I plan on milking that for as long as you will have me.

Okay, enough babbling… to celebrate my one year Anniversarbee, I give to you my PWC.

Okay, technically my PWC is a post wedding conception. That’s right bees, Zeb and I are expecting a little Zebra this winter!

Zeb and I have been planning to start a family for as long as we planned the wedding. After all, we’re in our 10th year together. I had a minor freak out right before the wedding and requested a little more time before we dove into a new pool of responsibility. That didn’t last long however and nearly two months after our wedding I woke Zeb up one fantastic Friday morning with a positive piece of plastic that I had peed on. It was one of the happiest days of our lives. We’ve been floating (and eating) on cloud 9 ever since.

Currently in my 17th week, pregnancy has been going well so far. I didn’t experience any morning sickness and everything has been checking out well. It’s easy to count my blessings when I wake up each morning. I’ve been telling everyone who asks that I feel like I’m on top of the world. I’m not trying to brag but it’s hard not to express the absolute happiness I feel (most of the time hehe).

I know many challenges lie ahead this year but I’m more than ready to experience life as a woman, wife, and parent. Who knows what else next year will bring? A winning lottery ticket maybe? C’mon! Maybe?
