Shower Time!

August 23rd, 2011 @ 4:53 pm by Mrs. Pony

A few weeks ago, the lovely ladies of my bridal party hosted a shower in my honor. I gave my girls very little guidance on what I was expecting from my shower, and they far exceeded anything I could have imagined. My shower included brunch (uh, yum), generously given gifts, and some of my favorite people:

The spread…mmmmmm…

I did request mimosas, and the girls delivered! :)

Proof BM What’s Her Face can cook! (Just kidding…kind of)

My plate of yum.

Aside from food, the ladies decorated everything in such a cute way, I have to show it off::

Aren’t these the most adorable utensils ever?

Although not normally a fan of shower games, I found my shower games to be completely enjoyable. First we played the “How well does Miss Pony know Mr. Pony” game. Apparently I only know him about 50 percent (although I believe some of his answers were wrong).

And, as if they read my mind, the girls announced we would be playing the toilet paper and paper towel wedding dress game. I’ve never been to a shower where this was played, but I’ve always wanted to (I blame Project Runway for this desire). And the best part was that I didn’t have to do anything but judge the dresses at the end of the ten minutes. So I got to walk around, take pictures, and channel my inner Tim Gunn. I took tons of photos during this, but I’ll spare you those and just show you the dresses as seen on the runway.

Team 3

Aren’t they all amazing? I was really impressed with what my family and friends could make with toilet paper, paper towels, and ten minutes of work. I mean Team 2 had a veil, flowers, bracelets, and a ring. I don’t even have all of that stuff for my wedding in a few weeks. They’re awesome.

And finally we ended the shower with gift opening while I made some ridiculous faces:

My shower was amazing, but it was not the highlight of the day…which I’ll explain soon!

Did you play games at your shower? Any guesses on the winner of the TP bride challenge?
