About Miss Petit Four

Pretty, ain’t it?

What Do You Mean We Can't Have Sparklers? : wedding decor isla mujeres traditions Picture010 Image via Once Upon a Time Photography

So what happens when your venue doesn’t let you have them? There are several places here in town that no longer let you use sparklers for your grand exit. So tragic. Who knows, maybe they got sued by a bridesmaid whose hair caught on fire from an errant sparkle that made its way to her overly hairsprayed head? That would be a good reason. I found an alternative to the traditional rose petals, rice, monkey poop, and whatever else you might think of.

(Drum roll, please…)

ECO-FETTI!

It kinda looks like snow…hmm, it snows at the beach right? Oh well, I’m still gonna use it! What are your guests tossing while you make your grand exit?

We used sparklers, but we did them off site during our after party. It made for awesome pics, and video (check it out, it’s at the end of this 3 min highlight video http://vimeo.com/26702956)

…monkey poop. Haha. :) *Is imagining a bride and groom walking out of the ceremony, only to be bombarded by monkey poop from beautiful monogrammed cones*

Eco-fetti would be perfect on the beach! You wouldn’t be able to clean it up very well, but the stuff you miss shouldn’t hurt the environment! Woo!

That looks pretty. I wanted sparklers but with a destination wedding I worried about carrying them on the plane or shipping them. I did fall in love with the lanterns which are whimisical too!

Oooooh, very pretty!!! I’d totally go for it… except it’d probably cost us around $150 and I doubt my FI would go for it! :(

Our venue (a botanical garden) has a bunch of restrictions. We might forgo the fancy exit, but the beauty of our venue is worth the compromise.

@Miss Honey: @Miss Honey: When she said it looks like snow I thought of you. That would be awesome at a winter wedding.
