I Freakin’ LOVE Flowers!

August 26th, 2011 @ 2:00 pm by Miss Petit Four

But…why are they so expensive??

OK, so I know why they are expensive. They are pretty and they smell good and everyone loves flowers, right? But I have come to the conclusion that flowers are expensive because weddings are expensive! After talking with the florist on the island, I decided that I need to scale back on my flower selections just a tad.

In my mind I had envisioned beautiful, full, pale pink bouquets of roses for my girls’ bouquets and the same for mine, except in ivory. All the tables would have beautiful arrangements overflowing with pale pinks and ivories, complete with a lace table runner.

OK, so you get the idea. It’s OK, though, we will make do with our flower budget and it will be beautiful. Here’s what we have in mind…

So what do y’all think? Is there anything you had to scale back on budget-wise?

I think what you are doing is absolutely beautiful! You have great taste in flowers. It’s all about the season too. For our flowers we decided to go with hydrangas instead of other ones…we ended up saving hundreds!!!

I agree with the PP you can have your dream flowers if you amend the particular flower. You and I have the same overall theme and colors but I’m opting to go with hydrangeas and peonies rather than gobs of roses saving me a ton of money.

Meeting with the florist tomorrow, we’ll see how ti goes!

are those petals in holder with the floater candle the Sedona Bride pic? I like! Hmmm I may have to DIY that. How do you plan on doing it?

I am trying to scale back on my budget any chance I can get. I scaled back majorly on my dress budget. However, I unexpectedly fell desperately in love with flowers and my flower budget has almost doubled, maybe tripled(!). But I think the key is to find a florist that is reasonably priced and who will work with you to find lesser expensive flowers that will still bring to life the dreamy centerprices you are envisioning!

Not exactly scale back because I went into my flower appointment KNOWING there was no way I could get all the flowers I wanted. But yeah I definitely love flowers too and wish we could afford more.

When my daughter was getting married, we tried to give her everything she wanted while staying within our budget which proved to be quite the tough task! After we found what we thought to be an amazing florist, upon the wedding day we found out that the florist had goofed on the date!

We frantically searched for replacements and finally through http://www.CheapSally.com found some discounts for Teleflora and were able to get some delivered the same day that looked even better than our original arrangement!

These will look gorgeous! I definitely scaled back my flower expectations upon seeing the price tags of those beauties!

I scaled back and went with fake flowers, DH has bad allergies so it worked out for us. I love your inspiration photos.

We have our first florist meeting next week, and I’ll probably be in your same boat. But can I just say that we are twins in terms of our floral bouquet ideas? I’ve been dying for full rose bouquets and decorations!

Why to scale back,if it is possible to make such beautiful arrangements yourself? I do believe, that inspiration can create great things! And it will not be THAT expensive! Thank you for nice article!
