That’s right! One year ago today, Mr. D got down on one knee and asked me if I would be his partner and wife. Obviously I said yes, and the rest is history.

Today another pretty big event is occurring. It’s my 25th birthday. The big 2-5. Quarter of a century old. Of course Mr. D had to be a slight jerk and schedule our fantasy football draft for 8:45 in the morning. No sleeping in for me. However, I do get the #1 pick, so I guess it’s all okay.

I am also having dinner with 14 of my closest friends. I am so excited to celebrate another year of my life and everything I had experienced so far. Not to mention that I’m super excited to be celebrating being engaged to Mr. D for a whole year! That means that our 17 month engagement is almost over!

This year, like any other, has been full of ups and downs. But I’m so grateful that I have been allowed to experience all of them. The experience of becoming a bee has probably been the other highlight of this year (other than getting engaged!). The hive is full of amazing women who are always there to support and uplift other people in similar positions, and I’ve just been so blessed to be a part of it. I know that I will be able to get through the next seven months of wedding planning, school, work, blogging, and other crazy life adventures because of the support of the people on this site.

And a note to my loving, amazing fiance (who said that he would specifically be looking for this post): I love you more and more each day. Thank you for being the macaroni to my cheese, the other half of my heart, the missing piece of the puzzle. I thank God every day that I found you! So happy engage-aversary! I love you!
