Kitchen Tea!

August 29th, 2011 @ 1:58 pm by Mrs. Teaspoon

So, my bridesmaids planned two wonderful events for the same day! This made my life very, very simple; all I had to do was turn up! We started at 3PM at my parents’ house. Luckily my dad was away at the time because there was a lot of pink going on and with my dad’s incredible sweet tooth, the cupcakes would never have survived!

I arrived, greeted by a beautiful long table for my kitchen tea. The teapots were put to good use! Mum got quite creative with theming up the champagne glasses. She also managed to find some gorgeous little blue wedding cake candles!

Then the food started coming out. All the photos still don’t do it justice! It was absolutely amazing—there was so much beautiful food, and that was just the start of it. You may also notice my Mum’s creativity showing through in some unusually shaped shortbread in there!

Next up was my favourite bridal shower game that I know a lot of brides love—the toilet paper wedding dress game! We had so much fun with this one and we went through quite a lot of toilet paper, too! Of course, I was lucky enough to be on the winning team (what a surprise when my Mum and my soon-to-be mother in law were the judges…).

It was so lovely to have all my girlfriends around to share such a wonderful afternoon and evening. We had such a fun time and it is so nice for everyone to meet before the wedding! Here are a few pictures of my lovely ladies:

The whole kitchen tea had a floral theme so everyone went all out and hair flowers were all the rage, as well as some beautiful floral dresses.

Of course, my champagne glass was very bridal!

Look out for what happens later in the night! It gets a little more wild than a cup of tea and a teacup!

@hisbahamamama: The ribbon was wrapping on something and Mum just got a little creative! They stayed on all night!

@Miss Sunhat: So much leftover!!

@Future Army Wife: They were also the ones left at the end of the night!
