The Bachelorette: Part I

August 29th, 2011 @ 3:50 pm by Mrs. Sparkler

How can even describe my bachelorette party? Amazing? Hilarious? Best weekend ever? All of those things wrapped into one?

I mean, how could you not have a good time when you’re at the…

That’s right. We hit up J-Shore for my last weekend as a single Sparkler. And if I haven’t mentioned it before, I have THE GREATEST FRIENDS EVER. Seriously. A HUGE “thank you” to all of you who made this weekend so special and fun. I wish I could relive it again and again :)

I arrived at the Shore on Friday evening after a 2 hour plane ride, a 3 hour car ride, and a bag of pizza-flavored combos. I was excited.

I’m here!

The first night of the weekend was spent at bridesmaid M’s LBI beach house, and she was ready for us. I mean, REALLY ready:

With all the proper bachelorette party gear assembled (including a Sparks! How perfect!), we decided to start the party right away! So I suited up in my pink sash and we got down to business.

After a few hours of catching up, lots of laughing, and general shenanigans, we decided we should head out to the bar.

Our first and only group shot of the night. Me and my best college girls.

It was so great to hang out with my closest friends. We don’t get to see each other as much as we would like, so this was a happy reunion. We danced…

We sang…

Oh… and there was one more guest in attendance:

Yes. A pink, unicorn diary. Let me explain.

In college, my roommates and I had what was supposed to be an address book on our coffee table. However, after having people over one night, we awoke to find that some pranksters had started a diary in our cute phone book. Soon, everyone that came over wanted to write in the “diary”, and by the end of the year, we had a book full of hilarious entries. So when Sister Sparkler gave me the unicorn diary as a birthday gag gift, I knew just what to do with it.

Even the guys in the band wrote an entry

Needless to say, the diary became the main “game” of the weekend. I’m not exaggerating when I say that everyone we met wanted to contribute to it. I highly suggest grabbing one for your next bachelorette getaway. On Sunday morning, we woke up to a FULL book of hilarious notes, well wishes, and other things that will remain hidden forever (just kidding ). Although, you might be seeing more of this diary in Part II of my bachelorette story!

Anyway, where was I?

Oh yes, the next morning, we recovered on the beautiful beach…

Helloooo Jersey! :)

As we packed up the LBI house, I was pretty skeptical that Saturday night could hold anything greater than the evening we’d just had… but who was I kidding?! That afternoon, we were off to Seaside Heights. And the weekend definitely got even better from there.

Stay tuned for Part II!

I love your diary story! My ex kept a “Secrets” book. Needless to say, when there were parties, some of the secrets people chose to let out got quite interesting!
