The search for Sabelle consumed my body and wracked my brain. I thought it was all over when I bought my gown. My mind calmed and I stopped feverishly searching websites for hours on end at home. I could focus on work again and I stopped laying awake at night dreaming of my gown. I was at peace. (For awhile…)
It started out innocently enough… I had been interested in the matching bolero that accompanied my dress, but having purchased my dress used, it was not included in the sale. From time to time, I would search classified ads on the internet to try and source a matching bolero in my size.

Of course, whenever I found someone selling a dress with the bolero, they never wanted to sell it separately. For months I would search, find something, then give up again after my request to buy separately was rejected. I wasn’t even sure if I wanted the Maggie Sottero bolero, but I thought maybe it would make my dress different from all the girls who wore it sans bolero.
Then in April, an English couple got married and I fell in love all over with the idea of a jacket.
Sigh….

Kate reignited my quest for a jacket and the more I thought about, the more I wanted to be covered up in the church. I mean, my dress is kinda busty folks. I wondered if I’d feel a wee bit embarrassed about showing up in my Catholic parish with all that cleavage bursting out.
I began to fantasize about how to change the neckline of my dress by adding a jacket. And oh how I fantasized…
I honestly debated getting an affordable bolero from Tulip Bridal, but after the royal wedding I noticed a significant price increase and I was turned off.

I also wondered about the quality of lace from Tulip Bridal.

Then I got sucked into an Etsy search that lasted weeks.

I think I contemplated almost every one of Rohm’s amazing jackets.

I even debated ordering something from designers who sold jackets separately from gowns.

Again, I found myself staying up late into the night researching jackets, then crawling to bed and laying with my eyes wide open, dreaming of lace and organza. I was going mad! It became clear to me that this itch would not go away until I satisfied my desire to find the perfect jacket.
