After 65 years, Priscilla of Boston is closing up shop and retiring their line of brands (Priscilla of Boston, Jewel by Priscilla of Boston, Platinum For Priscilla of Boston, The Dress by Priscilla of Boston, Melissa Sweet, Reverie by Melissa Sweet, Vineyard Collection). Priscilla of Boston gowns have long been a favorite of mine (we recently included a PoB dress in our New York Magazine guest edit).

If you’re ordering PoB wedding gowns or bridesmaids’ dresses, you’ll want to check out their FAQ in regards to how they will be fulfilling current orders.

Seriously?! I can’t believe it. My grandmother had a PoB dress and I always imagined I’d at least try on their dresses, too. Guess I missed that chance.

I am just BLOWN away. They seriously just finished building out the Beverly Hills store in the last 8 months - I cannot believe this.

Total loss for a timeless brand.

So if you don’t have an existing order, you can’t make one? I’m confused. I was planning to go to PoB to look at dresses in a month or two. I’m guessing this means that I should not go.

I’m sure all of the in-store sample dresses will now be for sale, probably at great prices-so if you did have your eye on a PoB and don’t mind buying a sample, I’d still go to try on dresses.

Wow, I’m shocked. And curious why… Their gowns are beloved by so many brides. PoB offered something different I couldn’t find anywhere else. Wondering what I should do with my Wallis gown now!

I just ordered my dress from Priscilla of Boston at the beginning of August. The delivery date is in early January, so I guess I’ll hear from my consultant sometime in the next few days. I’m only giving her until Friday afternoon, though - come Saturday, I’m calling the store to find out what happens next!

It really is a shame that they’re closing up shop. Their dresses were awfully lovely.
