Wedding Date: November 2011
Venue: Sts Peter and Paul Church/The Bently Reserve
About Me: I am a goofy, wannabe crafty, well-intentioned Renaissance Woman (OK, perhaps "aimless wanderer" is a more aptly suited term for me, but hopefully you get the point)—basically I dabble in just about everything and pride myself in such. Without warning, I occasionally breakout into soulful improvised songs and interpretive dances and there's just no stopping me! As so many others before me, planning our wedding has unearthed a deep, intense passion for all things bridal and I secretly fear the day it will come to an end. Mr. Seal and I are quite the pair and life with him by my side is extremely rewarding—I am so thankful to have found him. Together we are planning a black-tie San Francisco affair for 250—light on the stuffiness and with lots of extra Seal-y flair.
Ugh, I’m fighting one of the nastiest colds in the history of nasty colds, but if one good thing has come of this beast…it’s been my productivity. I know sickness and productivity don’t normally go hand-in-hand, but I am one busy bee and this has forced me to stay home and take it easy. (”Takin’ it easy” for me = working on my DIY projects in my PJs all day.)
As perhaps you recall, Mr. Seal is a huge Yankees fan; as such, he’s often seen sporting a Yankee hat from his (not so varied) collection:

Yes. Several of them are identical.

About Me: Voracious reader of short stories, Russian literature, National Geographic and Cosmo. I'm a GENIUS at spicing up Weight Watchers recipes and a pathological cheater at board games. I run a slow marathon, but my feet are learning to move faster. Mornings aren't my thing, but I can night owl with the best of them. Don't tempt me with your Cherry Cokes---I'm trying to quit. Tomorrow. Or never.
I knew who I wanted to shoot my wedding even before I met Bossyboots (the second time)…And he won me over in three photographs. (It’s the troof.)
Way back in 2008, I somehow happened upon an acquaintance’s engagement photos (I don’t even remember how I stumbled across them!) They were a sequence of underwater photos that literally took my breath away. The photos were creative, loving, fun, and beautiful. I’d never seen anything like them. At the time, I filed them away an amazing piece of art, but something I’d personally have no use for since the photographer was centered in Dallas (dun dun dunnnnnn).

Fast forward to 2011 - I was engaged and planning a wedding in Dallas.

Venue: Palma Sola Botanical Park
About Me: I hail from Oklahoma, he was born and raised in Long Island. Fate brought us together, and now we live in a cute little rental house with our nutty dog, and our aloof cat. We both love to read, watch movies, explore our town, and laugh like hyenas. When I’m not obsessively wedding crafting, I enjoy stalking style and decorating blogs, making collages and painting, napping, thrifting, rearranging our bookshelves, and being a total weirdo with my friends. Hi!
I’ve written before about how vain I’ve become since planning a wedding, all in the name of looking my best on the wedding day. Lately, I’ve taken that in weird directions—like, growing out my eyebrows because I’d like to get them professionally shaped and waxed a few times before the wedding. I feel weird, like people are going to start asking me if I’m OK. I mean, things are getting hairy up there.

But I digress. I’ve struggled with cystic acne in my past, and had finally, finally landed upon a skin care routine that worked.

Engagement Date: August 10, 2008
Wedding Date: August, 2009
Venue: Oakland Manor
About Me: I'm a Maryland raised environmental policy wonk/activist/organizer and communications aficionado. In the past year I've lived in Baltimore, MD, Tucson, AZ, Miami, FL and Lancaster, England. In my not so spare time I enjoy planning trips with Mr. D' Orsay, visiting friends and family and crafting like a mo-fo. I also enjoy modern dance classes, rugby and soccer but have been banned by my mother, MOHs, and Mr. D' Orsay from playing till after the wedding. I have an unnatural addiction to cheese and shoes, but love Mr. D' Orsay more than either and can't wait to become Mrs. D' Orsay!
Surprise! You thought I was gone, finished, finto after my recaps! Perhaps one day I’ll be writing a signing off post, but today is not that day my friends. As the spouse of an immigrant it’s going to be a very long time until I get to stop writing about marriage and immigration—but this post is not about that yucky business—it’s about photos!

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 28, Application Engineer
Engagement Date: May 30, 2010
Wedding Date: October 2011
Venue: Catholic church followed by a botanical conservatory
About Me: I'm an American designer who moved to Switzerland for love after a fairytale beginning at the top of the Eiffel Tower. I love travel, photography, museums, learning German so I can speak with my mother-in-law, cooking (eating), cuddling, and I'm not afraid to try something new even if it terrifies me. My Swiss/Brazilian man and I are both down to earth people planning a traditional Catholic wedding in my hometown with some quirky cultural exceptions to reflect our different backgrounds. We look forward to celebrating with friends and family from all over the world in a classic, sophisticated fusion of heritage and love.
…wait, I messed that up. It’s Franklin Park Conservatory - our venue!

After we decided a morning wedding was better for our internal Swiss clocks, we tried to see if we could make FPC’s more affordable 10AM-3PM time slot work for our wedding. As I thought, there is no Saturday morning mass at St. Chris and because we are long time parishioners, we were able to ask to have our wedding bright and early at 9AM.

Mrs. Jaguar, Sydney
Age and Occupation: 27, Primary School Teacher
Fiance's Age and Occupation: 29, IT Consultant
Engagement Date: August 8, 2009
Wedding Date: June 2011
Venue: Curzon Hall
About Me: I'm an Australian girl who is a self-proclaimed nerd, loves all things stationery and would be lost without books, music and the internet. Mr. Jaguar and I have been together for the past eight years and he finally popped the question last August. Hurrah! We currently live in Sydney, Australia with our adorable cat who thinks he's a person. We're a couple who likes to multi-task: we've been planning a wedding abroad, a permanent move from London to Sydney, and preparing to build our own home all at the same time. Travelling makes me giddy...as does Mr. Jaguar, of course!
We always knew we would have a traditional Catholic ceremony. We opted to have ours without a full mass/Eucharist and focused on keeping the wedding as much about love and about ‘us’ as we could, all the while remembering that in the eyes of the church, marriage is a holy sacrament.
I’ll admit, there was many a time over the course of our wedding planning where I longed for the freedom of writing our own vows or expressing our love in a less scripted way. On the day though, I was so filled with love and warm fuzzies that it wouldn’t have mattered what reading was shared or what psalms were sang— we were getting married.
Father Christopher began with an introduction and welcome, as well as an opening prayer over us as a couple.

Fiance's Age and Occupation: 25, Director of Communications
Engagement Date: October 9, 2010
Wedding Date: September 2011
Venue: Clark Gardens
About Me: My loves include yoga, anything spicy, our eccentric cat, our rambunctious dog, and Mr. High Wire, of course! Like the steadiness act of the tightrope walker, this gal is busy balancing life while planning a wedding to the man of her dreams. We’re hosting a laid-back, vintage-inspired, bird themed wedding with heavy doses of love, good eats (did someone say tacos and margaritas?), and endless Texas charm. Mr. High Wire and I are so happy to have you along for the walk across the tight rope.
Last weekend was an epic soiree of great friends, artistic endeavors, and a good old fashioned slumber party. It was even better than I imagined it would be and I’m so thankful to have these memories for the rest of my life.
The activities started at Spaghetti Warehouse where we were seated in the sweet train car in the center of the restaurant:

My aunt made these cute little lollipop centerpieces:

Engagement Date: Feb 13, 2010
Wedding Date: March 2012
Venue: Zama Beach Club, Isla Mujeres, Mexico
About Me: I am a polka-dot obsessed, destination wedding diva living and loving in the great state of Texas. I am an island girl at heart and I visit the beach as often as I can. I am a wannabe DIY goddess, but that doesn’t mean I won’t give it my best shot. I love pearl earrings, the color pink, and ruffles are a part of my everyday wardrobe. My wonderful fiance and I are planning a destination wedding with our closest family and friends and we’re leaving a trail of glitter in our path!
I have always been a fan of belts, so it’s only natural that I would love belt accessories that you can add on to your wedding dress.

Engagement Date: September 25, 2010
Wedding Date: December 2011
Venues: St. Andrew the Apostle, Fiesta Palace
About Me: I'm a Midwest girl who grew up in the country and now works in the big city! I love cooking, entertaining, reading (addicted to my Kindle) and going to the movies. I don't miss an episode of Hoarders and I start cleaning every time I watch! My profession doesn't call for much creativity so wedding planning has been a great outlet. Mr. Sunhat and I met online three years ago, cheer for rival MLB teams and share a home with our dog, Wrigley. We are planning a traditional, Polish, Catholic wedding with lots of DIY elements and some fun surprises. I'm so excited to be married on New Year's Eve and we can't wait to ring in the new year as husband and wife!
Our return address stamp has arrived!

I had a promotion code at the time of my order so I received the Life’s a Beach die set as a free gift.

Venue: IslandWood
About Me: I'm a Northwest girl who spends my time goofing around with Mr. Eggs Benedict and our dog, hiking, traveling, drinking wine and planning a wedding that will showcase the best of what the Pacific Northwest has to offer. I also love photography, beating Mr. Eggs Bene at Mario Kart, and watching the most ridiculous natural disaster flicks you can think of (seriously, how can you deny the awesomeness that is The Core or 2012?? That's right, you can't). We are planning our weekend wedding adventure at an environmental educational center, and I can't wait for the fun to begin!
After I realized it was time, we all lined up outside the double doors leading to the Great Hall, waiting for the ceremony to begin.

So I’ve actually be avoiding telling you all about my wedding dress for a while now. Don’t get me wrong—I’m absolutely in LOVE with my dress (as we speak it’s hanging in my closet and it tortures me that I have to wait 2 months to wear it). But the story leading up to my dress is what I’m not too keen on sharing (it’s a little embarrassing). I sort of wish I could just sweep it under the rug and just show you my current dress. However, I think the whole point of sharing with you bees is to be honest and share all the ups and downs of wedding planning. So, with that in mind, let’s start from the beginning. But first…

Mr. D and I nervously stepped up to do our first dance to Stevie Ray Vaughn’s Pride and Joy. We also heard this song on our first date, but I’m pretty sure it’s not about prostitutes or whore houses. I think we asked it to be shortened to 45 seconds—Mr.D is not so big on the “everyone staring” thing that happens when you’re the only people dancing in a crowded room.
