Let me get a little something out of the way.

Alrighty, now that that has been taken care of, let’s get down to business. Before we begin, I’d recommend playing this song in the background to really set the mood.
Adele: Chasing Pavements / Video via YouTube
I brought up the concept of exchanging gifts on the wedding day with the Baconator about a month and a half ago, knowing full well what I wanted to get for him. We discussed it, he agreed that it would be a nice touch and we set a budget range for us both to be in. In an effort to keep the gift a surprise, we agreed that we’d both take money out of our shared account and either get cash or a Visa/Amex gift card to make our purchases. I opted for straight up cash because it’s much easier to keep off the mutual books, and it’s a much better way to pay my photographer, Jordan.
Photographer? Oh yes, folks, just like many bees before me, I have fallen for the art of boudoir and have decided to give the Baconator a book of photos for our wedding. I’ll probably get him a cheapie watch or something to throw him off the scent in the morning because giving him a book of me in my undies in front of all his groomsmen and our dads is a bit awkward.
Here’s the thing about all of this. I admit that I think I’m pretty. Not a bombshell or model or model-slash-actress or any of that craziness, but I do think that if my hair is done up and my make up is dutifully applied, I can clean up pretty nice. But that’s just my head. Like many people out there, I’m a bit pudgier than I’d like to be and even though I have lost 15 lbs this year, I’m still a bit unsure of the way my waist and thighs and arms look. So taking the leap and taking these photos was super liberating. I wore mostly items that covered my tummy and Jordan was great at making sure each pose was as flattering as possible. We threw on some Adele to set the mood and we laughed a lot to make sure that I felt comfortable the whole time.
We took over Mama Bacon’s hotel room when she was here for my bridal shower a couple weeks ago so it turned into some goofy mother-daughter bonding. We got up at 7:30AM Sunday morning to shower, blow dry and prettify me before Jordan knocked on the door just before 9AM. Of course I’m running around in a bra and panties when Mama Bacon throws open the door to invite her in. Um, Hello, Mom, I know she’s about to take pics of me in just this outfit, but a little modesty please?? I know it’s weird to have my mom there, but it helped her feel more comfortable with the idea and really drove home the fact that boudoir is more about being sensual and artistic than simply showing skin and more skin.
So without further ado, here are some of my faves from the shoot. (All photos by the fabulous and talented JordanQuinn Photo)

| I’m shocked I’m putting this one up, but it’s time for me to love my non-six pack belly. |
So my advice? If you’re thinking about it, do it. It’s a lot of fun, and it doesn’t matter if you’re about to get married or have been married for years, I’m sure he’ll love it!
Would you ever do a boudoir shoot? If you have, how did it turn out?
