Dressing Up the Venue

September 6th, 2011 @ 12:45 pm by Miss Petit Four

Not that our venue needs much work…or any, but I figured I better put some flowers out or something!

When you look this good you can get away with minimal decoration, which saves money! (Yayyyyy!)

Don’t get me wrong, I love flowers too much to totally do away with them, but we hopefully wont have to use as many. We shall see, though; my mom is a big flower person, too.

Here is Mr. PF in his striking farmer’s hat.

One of the things that I love most about Isla Mujeres is the sunsets. We saw some breathtaking sunsets while we were there. Hopefully we will have a nice sunset on the night of the wedding, too. We planned our ceremony out so cocktail hour should be around sunset. :D

How are you dressing up your venue? Are you having tons of flowers or are you doing something different?

We’re having an outdoor ceremony in a gazebo with a HUGE weeping willow tree behind it (my favorite tree and why I choose our venue!) so all Im adding is a few shepered hooks with pomanders and some foliage on the gazebo! I like simple and elegant, with some aisle decor and maybe a nice arch, you will get the best of both worlds with your venue!! beautiful choice…

I am in the same boat as you! Although not at a beach, but I totally understand what you are saying. I am using a smaller amount of flowers, it just isn’t necessary for us to use a ton. No need to cover up the beauty that is already there! :)

You’re so right! The sunset is going to provide the PERFECT backdrop and a lot of decoration isn’t necessary!! It’s going to be GORGEOUS!

We’re thinking about candles instead of flowers. I’m a weird person and I really don’t want flowers at my wedding (other than the bouquet) although we may use some rose petals.

I love flowers, so we’re including as many as our budget would allow, but your backdrop is sooooo breathtaking, you wouldn’t even miss the flowers!

Our cocktail hour will be at sunset too! Of course for us, it will be a winter in Illinois, so I plan on living vicariously through your cocktail hour pics!
