Around these parts, I normally see inspiration boards that evolve over time into beautiful, cohesive weddings. Sure colors might change over time, but eventually something is decided upon and a vision is created. My inspiration boards have been so all over the place that our vision now is to have an awesome wedding. We haven’t picked colors, there are no fonts that will be used in various places, and there’s no theme, per se.
At first, I settled on purple and gray. It would be easy to come up with flowers and easy to find dresses, and there was tons of inspiration on the interwebs that I could pluck from.

But honestly, it was just a little too soft for me. And most of the boards I found inspired elegance. Not that I can’t be elegant, but it’s definitely not a word I would use to describe this rock-wrastlin’, beer-drinkin’, not-shy-about-fartin’ bride. So then I decided a vintage affair, using my favorite color teal, would be perfect. And being from Georgia, let’s throw in a bit of peach!

Beautiful, yeah? I thought so. But the mister was worried that peach was a little too close to pink. So I took his favorite color, red, and my favorite color, teal, and decided we would have a Christmas-y type wedding. I found a bunch of cute prints for color inspiration, including the one below.

I thought for sure these colors plus a little mistletoe and some snow (I’m in Georgia, but I’m sure I could hire a snow machine, yeah?) would make a winter-wonderland wedding come true. But then I got indecisive. If there were a theme to our wedding, it would be indecisiveness. Truth be told, I didn’t want to have to worry about making sure dresses and flowers and everything else matched or fit with a theme. You can ask my mom. It drives her nuts that I rarely match my clothes. And so our wedding is going to be colorful, I won’t know what our flowers look like until I go pick them up, and our decor is luckily taken care of by our venue with no real clear-cut color scheme. I’m sure it will be beautiful, and I’m not one bit worried about it, but it’s definitely raising some concern in the MOB department.
