Bridal Shower: Pittsburgh

My future family (FMIL Ticket hosted) was generous enough to throw me a bridal shower while Mr. Ticket and I visited in March. People commented that it seemed a bit early (eight months prior to the wedding), but it was the only time we would be in Pittsburgh before the wedding, and I was thrilled she was so generous as to think of such a thing.

We went to Bravo for the festivities, which I had never had before, and I must say the food was awesome. After far too many appetizers, a yummy meal, and a good 20 minutes of drawing with our not-to-be-flower-girl, M, it was time to open presents.

This is pretty much the extent of my artistic ability.

My little helper got bored at certain points during the event, but I must say she is an excellent wrapping -paper ripper.

I think we were both equally intrigued by this one (me for the C&B box and her because it was from her!).

After the many many awesome presents were opened, we dipped into this little delight. It was delish (particularly since I was on an extremely strict diet and this was the first dessert of any kind I had had in over a month)!

FSIL L (She’s engaged to BM M, and Mr. Ticket will be in her wedding this month in Philly.)

FSIL V (She’s engaged to BM B, and we will be going back to Pitt for her wedding NEXT September.)

May I just say I adore these girls. I’m so glad the Ticket men have such good taste in women.

Mr. Ticket showed up and surprised me with flowers! (He was still half asleep, as his bachelor party had been the night before.) Those are not the flowers in the picture; sadly, we did not get a picture of them, as they were the very same gerbera daisies that will be at our wedding. (I know FMIL Ticket orchestrated this little gesture.) It was so sweet—I thanked them both profusely.

That’s very sweet of your in laws! Wow, to have three sons all engaged at the same time - what a joyous time for them!

I was VERY close to having an early shower. We were going to have it in October which would be 7 months before the wedding. Things changed though and now we are going to have it later. I say who cares how early you have the shower? Do what works best for YOU! Looks likes you had a blast! What a nice family you have.

Haha, Mr. Ticket looks like someone photoshopped the top of his mom’s face on the bottom of his dad’s! (This is funny to me because Mr. Cannon looks like someone photoshopped the top of his dad’s face on the bottom of his mom’s!)

I am getting married in April of 2012 and I am having my shower 10/1/11…I am working on my master’s degree, and my 2012 spring semester is going to be so jam packed…that I won’t have time for a shower. A lot of ppl, asked why so early? But my bridal party defended my decision and I am so happy that I stuck with it!!!

Shower stories might be some of my fave pre-wedding recaps here on the hive. I love the part where the FI brings flowers. I hope Mr. Kettle is made aware of that tradition.
