We’ve Got a Cryer!!!

September 9th, 2011 @ 3:22 pm by Miss Petit Four

Yes, its true. I cry. A lot. If something really special is going on? Cry. Something really sad? Cry. Something really happy? Cry.

Just the other day, I cried during a Folgers Coffee commercial. Redic.

We've Got a Cryer!!! : wedding isla mujeres 1745644 Here’s my…um…special (?) cry face after our engagement.

We've Got a Cryer!!! : wedding isla mujeres Picture026 Again

We've Got a Cryer!!! : wedding isla mujeres Dscf037 That’s me there at the top during MOH Petit Four’s wedding. I may look like I’m smiling, but I am trying to hold back tears.

We've Got a Cryer!!! : wedding isla mujeres Picture027 Giving the maid of honor speech. Crying.

I cried for, ohhh…about 75% of the day. Yeah, that sounds right.

After coming to this realization, I started thinking about how I am gonna make it through my wedding day. I have heard that pressing your tongue to the roof or your mouth helps, or thinking of dead kittens…or something like that (hmmm…that might make me cry more), but I’m not convinced any of this is going to work for me.

How are you going to get through your wedding day? Do you have any special tricks? Or maybe you are a normal person who doesn’t cry during coffee commercials. Spill it, ladies!!! I need your help!

I’m a crier too! I was SUPER surprised at myself when I didn’t cry when we got engaged (I was just too surprised and ecstatic… I think the adrenaline kicked in!) so I’m hoping the same will happen during the wedding.

Mrs. Candy Apple said she’s usually a crier and didn’t shed a tear on her wedding day… maybe the same will happen for you and me!

I wish I was a cryer. I cry over nothing! It’s pathetic. Except SPCA commcercials, those get me every single time. Be proud that you are cryer! There are many non-cryers that wish they were cryers! :)

Oh yeah, I’m a crier too. I have no idea what my wedding day is going to be like. And, I’m a little nervous about the pictures because when I cry, my whole face turns red and splotchy and my eyes and nose swell. Yeah… so, sorry but I have no advice!

I didn’t think I could get through my vows without bawling, but I did it even through my husband cried. I told myself I wanted to look happy, happy, happy on my wedding day and I was afraid my eyelashes would come unglued! I had to pause a few times, but no tears! Plus, I got super annoyed and distracted when my father started talking through the ceremony loud enough for all the guests to hear.

I am not always a crier, but when I do, it is an ugly cry. As I was walking down the aisle, I felt myself starting to cry and I literally stopped halfway down the aisle and tried to compose myself (we’re talking full face fanning). My husband, standing at the end of the aisle, thought my almost crying was funny and made a joke. I laughed and managed to stop crying.

I’m a crier, but only for things LIKE commercials. I cried at a milk commercial once, and I cry during movies, songs, tv shows, when im stressed or frustrated… but NOT when I should cry. I’ve never cried at a funeral to someone I’m close to and I didn’t when I got engaged. But… I cry every time I read a proposal story from a total stranger or see a video of one, and ditto funerals. So yes, I’m the weirdo who cries only at unnecessary times and never when it would be socially acceptable to! My wedding? Totally not going to cry, even if I try!

LOL - I am a TOTAL crier. How bad? I cried at the dinner table the other night while TALKING about Fox & The Hound. Not watching it - just talking about it. And I haven’t seen it since I was like 5. I have to stop writing about it or I’m going to burst into tears here at my desk.

SO (soon to be FI) finds my waterworks pretty funny (and adorable) as I will cry over nothing at any given moment. I will be a complete mess at my wedding. No doubt. Will need a makeup artist on standby at all times.

I will say that the easy waterworks came in extremely handy in school (I got out of SO much trouble for being able to come up with ANY excuse accompanied by a river of tears).

Have very funny readings - that’s what kept me going through the ceremony!

Dead kittens? NO. I plan on having an emotional breakdown two nights before the wedding (probs induced by excessive wine and reruns of Suprise Homecoming) to get all my crying done, haha.

So I have the same problem, since I cry at EV.RY.THING (Yes, I know that it was missing an ‘E’, but it makes more sense to do it phonetically there). When looking up just this same topic on the boards recently, I read one bee’s suggestion that you stand in front of a mirror (with lots of tissues handy) and recite your vows. You can also do it while looking at a picture of your FI, or one of the two of you together, probably your favorite pic of you two would be best. Just keep going through and reciting your vows until you’re all cried out, and then the adrenaline the day of should carry you through, if not completely then at least enough to stem the tide of tears until after the ceremony. Hope this helps! :)

OMG I am such a crier as well. Miss Petit Four - you sound EXACTLY like me. I know it sounds lame but I’ve thought abuot taking something to calm my nerves before the wedding starts as I hoped it may help that as well… my friends and family have told me to just drink a couple glasses of champagne - but alcohol usually makes me cry more!!! So, I don’t know what I’ll do either, but I know I will be sobbing right there beside you LOL

I’m a crier and I just let it happen. There were some not so pretty pictures, but I still love seeing and reliving the emotion felt at the time.

Crying with commercials, awww you’re so cute.
Deep breaths, lame advice I know but everytime you feel the emotion wave coming just take a lot of deep breaths.
