Midnight Snack Attack

September 10th, 2011 @ 6:00 pm by Mrs. Petit Four

If y’all haven’t figured it out yet, Mr. PF and I are total foodies. We love tasting new food, eating food in general, and making food, too! So, it’s no surprise that food is a huge part of our wedding. We had to make sure to find a venue that had amazing dishes that not only looked pretty but also tasted great. It just so happens that the chef at the venue we picked was the winner of one of the Iron Chef competitions (yummmmmmm).

Now, I already talked about what we will be eating for dinner, so you must be wondering…what else could she possibly have to say about food?

Well, we want to do a midnight snack attack for all our guests and offer them some more delicious stuff to eat while dancing the night away.

I know after a couple of drinks the last thing I want is something sweet, but I can’t get over the idea of having a s’mores station.

Seriously, y’all, how amazing does this look???

I thought about it some more and realized that our guests probably aren’t going to want sweets after getting two desserts and possibly wedding cake. *Sigh* Moving on…

The next idea we had was a nacho bar. Nachos are just awesome because you can scarf them. Don’t act like y’all have never scarfed down some nachos.

No, your eyes are not playing tricks on you. That is cheese coming out of that fountain.

Next up…a mini hot dog bar! These things are so freakin’ cute!!! I could do without the black things on the bun, though. :D I talked to my venue and they said they couldn’t do mini hot dogs. Damn. Foiled again.

OK, y’all, this is my favorite idea so far, and I totally understand if you want to steal it because it’s going to be so amozing! (Remember Frank from Father of the Bride?)

Oh yeah, baby! I can’t think of any food I would rather eat while I’m getting my drink and dance on! I’m hoping we will be able to have individual servings of fries and then people can go over to the station and top them with chili or cheese or ketchup or…whatever!

Are you having a late-night snack attack? What are some of your favorite midnight snacks?

That looks delicious. I had chocolate chip cookies with milk shooters.

We are definitely having a late night snack. Gotta keep people going until at least midnight! Mr. BC is in charge of the final decision but we have some pretty fun ideas up our sleeves!

I LOVE the idea of having french fries. Great choice! Drunk people love fries. Just be careful about the grease and ketchup around your dress though.

That is such a good idea! I was hoping to do pizza– I know it’s kind of boring but definitely great for late at night!

I heard recently of someone having a “popcorn bar!” yum! I might investigate that! (you know…cheesy popcorn, carmel popcorn, spicy popcorn, etc…)

hahahahaha Zack Attack, love it. I busted out laughing at work today when I read that (I work at a quiet spa so you can imagine the looks I got). But yea these are all great ideas. As a fellow foodie I’m toying with the idea of serving sub sandwiches as our midnight snack! No subway-esque setups or anything but some premade faves will be given out.

If your wedding is in Mexico, why don’t you do a late night taco stand or churro stand? That is what we are doing :)

That’s cool! I think our caterer offers some, but we’re not. Food nibbles then dinner then dessert bar? We’ll be stuffed to the gills.

Haa, love the Zack Attack reference. I also have that same exact s’mores image bookmarked! Toyed with that idea, until I realized there are kids at the wedding and little open flames like that stresses me out.

Fries are perfect. I haven’t seen or heard of that yet (or at all really). Nothing better then something greasy at the end of a night spent drinking & dancing.

One of my fiance’s requirements for the reception is a nacho cheese fountain. You’d be surprised about how hard it is to find someone to do that!
