Hair Talk

We all want to look perfect on our wedding day, there’s no doubt about that. So what happens when your idea of perfection is different from what you fiance thinks?

I recently asked Mr. PF how he thinks I should wear my hair for the wedding, and he said he wants me to wear it down. Now, I figured he would say that because I rarely fix my hair and make it look pretty. Having hair all over my face is not conducive to working with kids, y’all.

I always figured I would wear my hair up since we will be at the beach and it will probably be somewhat humid. I just want it out of my face and off my neck while I’m dancing the night away. But I do love the way brides look with their hair down. It looks so dreamy and beautiful, and I wish so badly that I could pull that look off.

I just think that the wind and the humidity will be too much for my little ol’ hair to stand it. So I told Mr. PF that it just wouldn’t be possible for me to wear my hair down. I think it took him about five seconds to get over it. Here are some of my favorite updos.

I am waiting for my veil to arrive so I can go do my hair trial. Yes, I am doing a hair trial here even though whoever does it won’t be anywhere near me on my wedding day. I told you I was crazy.

How are you going to wear your hair on your wedding day? Does you SO have a certain way they like for you to wear your hair? Did you wear it that way?

Love this post, because it’s my eternal dilemma!! I have long, thick, heavy hair, and it looks gorgeous down but it’s soooo hot. And if I’m dancing, it gets sweaty and ruined in about 5 minutes. I love the way it looks down, but for my future wedding day, I’ll probably have to go with an updo. I LOVE the last pic you posted with the flower…gorgeous!

the first updo caught my eye. it’s so pretty woven that way. i can’t even begin to figure out how one achieves that but it’s awesome, nonetheless… i’ll just leave the construction details to the professionals.

Ugh! I know exactly how you feel! My fiance has a different opinion about everything I say regarding my wedding day look. First I told him I wanted a lace wedding dress and he said he thought that I would look like an old lady. He also said he wants my hair down and loose and while I think it would be beautiful during the ceremony, I am pretty sure it would look a mess in no time!

At the end of the day you just have to do what you think is best for you. Boys do not understand wedding styles. They also don’t understand what humidity can do to hair especially in Mexico!!

Mr. PaC is for whatever makes me the least cranky/fussy. Which was hair up! And I think it makes complete sense to do a hair trial ahead of time so you have your hair figured out and can show photos of the style to your stylist in Mexico.

Mr W wanted me to wear my hair down. He LOVES it down, but I knew hair down in June = cranky pants me. So, purposely messy loose side bun it was. He still thought I was pretty ;)

I have a similar problem and don’t know what to do about it! So glad I’m not the only one! My SO loves my hair down and so do I so there is no question about the fact that it will be down on the big day. However he prefers my hair straight which normally I don’t mind since its easy to fix that way and I look ok with it styled straight. I really want to wear my hair with large loose curls. I’m afraid he won’t like it…but do you think that my hair style is what he will really be focused on on our big day?

Love the updos. I hate my hair up because I have a really prominent nose, but my hair is CAH-RAZY so I don’t know how that will work out down. I guess I have time to fig it out.

My husband fought with me hard about how I should wear my hair because I wanted a low side ponytail and he preferred it down… He couldn’t picture the ponytail and I wouldn’t show him the picture…

So on the wedding day when he finally saw me he told me I looked beautiful the same as he did on prom night when I walked down the stairs.

I don’t think you’re crazy to do a hair trial with someone who won’t be doing your hair! If you love what they do, take tons of pics and get the person to recreate it on your wedding day. Makes sense to me!

Something that’s funny though, is that it’s never crossed my mind to ask my SO how he would want me to wear my hair! I’m planning on an updo and even if he asked me to wear it down, I wouldn’t - I want it looking great all day and night, not limp and straggly by the time the reception comes around (which is totally what my hair would do!)

This is my dilemma as well!!! My fiance likes my hair DOWN, but I know it will get all sweaty and gross and ruined really quickly (especially since we are having a beach wedding, and it’s usually breezy on the beach), so I think I’m going to go with it UP. I would rather have my hair intact that worry about it the whole day…
