Mrs. Magic's Picture
Mrs. Magic, Chapel Hill, NC Age and Occupation: 30, Licensed Clinical Social Worker Fiance's Age and Occupation: 30, Researcher Engagement Date: December 1, 2009 Wedding Date: October 2011 Venue: Barn at Valhalla About Me: I’m a tall drink of water (5’10”!) and a Southern bride with an enormous appetite for Mexican food, good deals, anything French, and all things wedding! By day I am lucky enough to work with individuals with autism and their families. By night, I’m even luckier to be able to spend time hanging out with awesome friends, crafting, shopping, thinking about exercising, and kicking it with Mr. Magic and our two cats. I tend to have sudden, intense cravings that will not be denied (seafood enchiladas! new jeans!) and I’m prone to being a disorganized mess of anxiety and stress. After waiting (and waiting!) to get engaged, I am finally planning the colorful, fun, fabulously awesome Fall wedding of our dreams. In an effort to share the fun and craziness that is wedding planning, I’m gonna blog about it for y’all---the good, the bad, and the pretty!
About Mrs. Magic

OK, I complained just a teeny tiny bit a few weeks ago about invitations. You may have thought, from reading that post, that I designed the invitations myself. Or, you know, had to cut them out. Glue pieces together. Used a Gocco and sewed them with delicate gold thread and what not.

Nope. I just had to stack, tie, stuff, and stick. And it ’bout nearly killed me, and sure as heck disrupted my exercise plan for good, it seems.

At the beginning, it was fun. These are the pics from when I was so excited to get started! Woo hoo! Invitations!!! It’s all really happening!!!

I thought it would be a good idea to make an assembly line to assemble these little guys, and to sit on the floor. Because I forgot that I am 31 years old, not 23.

Wine and a black light were also involved, as were all seven Harry Potter videos.

Here’s a sneak peek of these little devils beauties…full reveal tomorrow!

I was shocked how long it took us to do the invitations! And even though it may be a major strike against the wedding gods we used labels for our invites. Still it took FOREVER!

I have been working on our invites since February and am finally sending them out this coming weekend. I actually was crazy enough to design, cut, make pocket folds, calligraphy & line envelopes. Hit a few bumps in the road, but they are finally completed and will be on their merry way and out of my apartment forever!! I’m really excited :)

Your invites look awesome! And I agree, invitations are a huge time suck. I DIYed ours 100%, so it was even more of a killer - but I totally feel your pain. About halfway through I went to Staples and thought, “Why am I not just buying these easy invitation packages that I can just print and be done?!”

Huge out loud laugh for “Because I forgot that I am 31 years old, not 23.” I kept forgetting that through all my DIY as well. I think my back will never be the same.

Can’t wait for the full reveal!
